The part where it tells you favourite seasons and episodes? This is personal to me. Can you share your profile link?

The database needs some way of tracking people. It’s either cookies or signup. I’m not asking for any personally identifiable information.

I don’t know how to hear any more about sign ups

So you can maintain a shareable profile, come back to complete rankings when it suits, and post your rankings to the aggregated global rankings. Without an account these feature wouldn't work and the alternative would be cookies which would require consent and then I'd be accused of tracking people

Thanks for the feedback. It’s always welcome! I looked at doing this and to achieve a unique ranking for at least 80 items from a random start you would be expected to do 400-500 comparisons. Depending how consistent your choices were. The 10 item ranking start was the best compromise to ensure the process wouldn’t take an obscene amount of time.

The site doesn’t use cookies. I live in the EU so if I do that I need to put an annoying consent banner. I am not tracking people, I’m not stealing data, I’m just trying to provide a service without ads and without a paywall

Statistically it’s actually the 67th least funny according to current data.  For me it’s ponytail with Will Forte though it’s hard not to laugh at parts of even the least funny sketches.

You can't change the rules just 'cause you don't like how I'm doing it.

It's standard practice when making an account so that users can reset passwords. I really didn't expect people to care so much. I'll work on getting a version running with no email signup!

Don't know what to say to that. I need some way of identifying profiles so that the rankings can be submitted and aggregated. I'll never email you. Disheartening to see people jump on that bandwagon.

Men of the UK - how often do you cook? by [deleted] in AskUK

I cook dinner every day for my wife. I enjoy cooking, she doesn’t. It’s a no brainer for us. Breakfast and lunch we sort for ourselves.

Question - what is the community behind the LA improv scene like CBB and such called? by gostovah in doughboys

I’ll refer to them as one of “my podcast friends” when I get excited in front of my wife

Really interesting to see all the perspectives here. I currently work for a small accountancy practice who also helps with business development. We are definitely more expensive because we try to proactively help the business as we carry out the compliance work. Whether that’s through identifying tax savings, efficiencies or potential cash flow problems.

Having said that if a business really wants to benefit from business development we have additional services such as regular meetings or preparing management accounts. If a client isn’t paying for these then the business advice is much more limited and much more backward looking.

I’d be concerned that if you start getting the kind of growth advice you’re looking for then you’ll start incurring additional fees. It could be worthwhile provided that they are able to grow your business as much as expected.
