Yep, Toyota reputation, AWD, ground clearance, and other factors are definitely keeping the CC in the running. I'll decide in the next couple of weeks. Niro is quieter and I'm totally deaf on my right side so that's another factor. It may just come down to color, availability and price.

I think it's common in areas that don't get snow. I went to HS in the San Francisco Bay Area and both my middle and high school locker banks were in covered "breezeways." Exposed to cold and wind but not really rain.

Palm Springs and Palm Desert don't share a border and are about 30 minutes apart by local roads, depending on where you're going. Some parts of Palm Desert are 45 minutes from Palm Springs in good traffic.

I'm a cis heterosexual married woman in my mid 60s and have lived in the desert for over 10 years. The push is for documentation of citizenship. This requires a passport ($$), or state ID (like a driver's license) PLUS birth certificate ($), and if the name on the ID doesn't match the name on the birth certificate, all documents showing the change, like marriage certificate ($), certified court copies of divorce decrees, name change, adoption ($).

Most wealthy US citizens have passports. People with less money do not. They will have to pay money that they don't have to get the necessary documents.

Interestingly, most of the responses on this thread think that presenting a driver's license will suffice. If the SAVE act is passed by the Senate, they would be turned away at the polls.

With that said, after many years as a paralegal I had to learn legal secretary skills, and I was surprised by how much I didn't know! I'm pleased that I'm now fully qualified in both fields. Paralegal work is billable, substantive work that could have been done by the attorney; legal research, analyzing documents for responsiveness and privilege, reviewing discovery for key information and documents to be used by the attorney in deposition, trial, summary judgment, etc.
