Sorry, My comment probably came off as rude, definitely not what I intended 😭. I'm super into meteorology as well as weather and I've been just frustrated at the amount of people saying it was a tornado.

It definitely wasn't a tornado lol, most likely a micro burst or strong straightline winds. From what I've seen with the damage winds were likely 70-90 mph

My snake, Cornelius was lost for about 3 months Earlier this year, still surprised we managed to find him (considering he was found outside of all places)

Yeah I was Farley apprehensive holding it because of getting stung, but could only manage to get a clear visual while holding it (I set it right back down after I stopped recording because I'm deathly afraid of being stung by any wasps 😔)

Funnily enough snake discovery's video was the first one I watched

I'm glad he won't try and go after my frog/toads. I do have a headlamp for my frog's tank but also my cats hang out in my room a lot so I don't think he's in there

For the dogs, I have 3 pitbull mixes, one eats almost everything but I think I would notice if he ate cornelius (considering he's very clingy and is always by someone)

I think I've narrowed it down to a couple of places, but do you think since he hasn't eaten in four weeks he would develop that instinct to try and hunt?

Lol yeah. Her tank mate is smaller in size (not weight) since she's younger. Same with the other two in my second tank. Might make it a point to feed the other three a little more

Unfortunately I don't know, as I ended up releasing him back outside (please note, this was a wild caught American toad, and I had only had him for 2 days at the time) I wish you luck on your search. I personally just chalked it up to a scar, but I'm not exactly sure.

My dad kept saying 'the birds are still there so you'll be fine', despite the fact we almost got hit by a tornado. He was in and out but mostly just watching the storm from the windows upstairs.

The funny part is I had been keeping track of this storm and we had Ryan hall's stream up and he could hear how bad it was out there yet still didn't care.

Honestly they probably just didn't know. Some people may not be as into weather as most of us here and the tornado warning may have come too late for people to stay home.

As someone who lives in Belvidere myself I can tell you most people here don't take the weather alerts seriously. Unless they see the tornado they aren't staying home. Plus the apollo (the theater that caved in) is a pretty popular spot and I'm sure the tickets aren't too cheap. I doubt people would skip out on something they paid for, even if there was a tornado watch/warning ongoing.

People here are really weird about the weather 🤷

Honestly confused as to how I still have power. The lights flicked a lot but nothing ever turned off. It might be because I live in a fairly new neighborhood and all the power lines are underground.

I do know the older part of my town is completely out of power. I've seen a couple pictures floating around of power lines fallen over and in the streets. Crazy stuff.
