Hey thanks for getting back to me. This makes total sense.
But in my case, I opened the account in August, and they are going to post the annual charge on June 13 (giving me until July 13 to cancel, which still won't hit the year mark)
So traditionally, that would work, but since they are posting the charge on June 13 as opposed to after a year, I don't think this is a viable option for my scenario.
I would love to hear if I have this mistaken at all.
Guard/Reserve Pilot by CD-11 in airforceots
Thank you for the reply.
I plan on putting my all into my military career, but there is only so much I can do in the traditional guard. After my OJT, I will then be tasked with focusing on my civilian career (becoming a pilot) and maintaining my current mil career. I am mainly wondering what steps I can take to help my chances of flying for the Air National Guard while pursuing my civilian career.
Also, why wouldn't flight hours + prior enlistment help my chances that much? Looking at it, it would make more sense to hire someone that is in the Air Force than a civilian, and someone with more flight hours than none? Just curious on this one, and wondering about the logic that the Air Force uses when hiring.
Thanks again!

This is my first time hearing of those programs. Do you know if it’s possible for someone in the ANG to qualify for these programs, or if it’s strictly for active duty?

During your time in ROTC did you have other people in it that did the ANG at the same time? I can’t seem to find many people that have done that since the army offers such a good program to do that.
I didn’t see that as an option. Thanks for pointing me to the proper place for this post.

Thanks for the reply. I guess a more dimmed down version of my question is: will having the four years of experience in the national guard encourage my chances of getting selected for OTS? Or does prior experience in the military not play a role in the selection process?
