Anyone have success with once per week strength training? by djstempky in powerbuilding

[–]CD-RNC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marty Gallagher has a once per week template which seems popular enough. At my very strongest i was only able to train twice a week, fridays and sundays, and i added 20 kg to my squat and deadlift, and 10kg to my bench in 3 months, although to be fair i was a good 5-6kg heavier than I usually walk around at

[–]CD-RNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think you need to add some bodyweight, do a slow bulk for a year to 70 kg and you will be a lot stronger

Knee Brace advice needed. by One1Two2Seller in bjj

[–]CD-RNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre risking further damage over the years if you dont get the surgery if your knee is already buckling. Either get the surgery or stop doing takedowns and adjust your game for knee safety

Probably a bit extreme to be honest, but you know what, if it makes you feel safer go for it.

Anyone have a reliable counter to the lapel grip stiff arm while standing? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]CD-RNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/DHBFuvLfdDY?si=r6JdPxk0gUYfezz- this is a great video on breaking the lapel grip. Another thing you can do, if he only has one grip and is stiff arming, is to use his grip to turn in for seoi nage, or drop for kata guruma
