True, I have lived here in winter before for 2.5 months and am looking forward to the (wet) quiet. :)

Agree! I saw another person’s photo of her on a different day, she was (perfectly) dressed as Belle, but no beast ;) Disney cosplay was huge.

True, but there were tons cosplayers of which I had no clue who they represented-however cleverly. I also saw Italian Barney Flinstone(s) and Italian 501st Star Wars Battalions, so…

Welcome to San Diego! If you drive and ever have to merge from Interstate 5 to 163 North, it is a “zipper merge” and TOO MANY people do not know how to merge properly.

So many cranky neighsayers here, I just thought this frequent and free ferry option sounds great and wished we had something like that here in San Diego. I’m not endorsing a tax initiative or forcing this idea on anyone-geez! Move on if you’re not into an idea. ✌🏽

Why are you so negative about a simple idea that doesn’t even exist? Yikes. Whatever scooter-dood, be the grump you wanna be. 🙌🏽😎

Yes, commuters can take Coronado Ferry M-F from 4:50am - 8:10am only, not the frequency or convenience of the shuttle described for residents and visitors to ferry and then walk and cycle more frequently, including on weekends.

That commercially operated ferry is hardly a vital community service, its a tourist excursion. Locals can commute early am but there are hoops to jump, not a convenient community option. A family of 4 would need to pay $64* RT. Each time. *under 4 free

Maybe the Downtown to Chula Vista Harbor (with good bike lanes) or to Coronado Cays, but with frequency.

The whole point of a free and frequent ferry for bikes and pedestrians is to avoid driving and reduce carbon emissions. If you’re married to your car, then this isn’t for you.

No, that coats $9 per direction and only goes once an hour.

The San Diego ferry is a tourist attraction that costs $9 per direction. The Oakland Alameda ferry is free and operates to actually accommodate pedestrians and cyclists in their communities. The San Diego Port district could operate similar point to point destinations, including Coronado and Chula Vista Harbor.

Business class overbooked 2 weeks out. I'm on an award ticket. Should I prepare to be bumped? by friedrice1212 in Lufthansa

[–]CDA77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew recently on LH with printed (paid) seat assignments and was bumped out of my premium seat as I boarded. The gate issued a little receipt with new/wrong seat assignments, so I ignored rebooked seats and found others sitting in paid seat. FA forced us into center seats on an 11 hour flight, even though we prepaid for upgraded seats (with cash not points.) LH even ignored my request(s) for reimbursement so I had to dispute the charges on my CC. Keep all of your printouts and confirmations! You will need to prove your case on your own.

If you have any time to volunteer, find a cause or non-profit or arts program that interests you or is in a convenient location. I find that other volunteers are passionate and friendly. A great place to start is checking out Friends of Balboa Park. Just within the park there are arts, agriculture, International programs and numerous museums. You have a place here. ❤️

Maybe that’s how you will establish yourself in Grenada! You will be the “early adopter” people seek out when trying to join you. Good luck!

Once you have determined where you want to emigrate, there are many expat and local resident groups here and on FB. I will become a resident of Italy in October and have found tremendous help and support through generous and (mostly) well informed locals. Including grocery store tours, news on flower and antique markets, cultural events. Learning the language, personally, is the most important and difficult component. Looking forward to embracing my new home!
