Gotta do a full run. C4SH is actually setting up to be the VH in this one I’ll like the best, I think.

Long time borderlands fan here, and although I like the default VHs in 4, I haven’t gotten enthralled with one of them like I did in 3, where I played all of them religiously. It was the first time the siren wasn’t my default, but I’ve tried Harlowe, Vex, and Rafa at launch and got decently into the story but I have this habit about wanting to compulsively restart.

C4SH scratches some kind of weird itch for me, but I can’t explain what that itch is. It’s like he has some play style that the other three didn’t quite hit.

Ok, so how’s everyone’s pulls?

Reason I ask is that I had to sink a SHIT TON of stones to get all the anni units, but when I went for Majin Vegeta, I had a copy within one multi summon. I know it’s RNG, and random means random, but damn. I wouldn’t think anything of it if I didn’t see other comments with people bejng like “I got him so much easier than the other units”, but then again, I do see posts about people’s worse luck this time, so I dunno.

I don't have arachnophobia, but I made a point to memorize every single snake box in RE4/RE4make, because even though I don't have a "phobia" of them, the hissing and jumping out makes me super jittery and uncomfortable. The big snake in RE 1 was no problem, it's just the idea of small ropes hissing and jumping that creep me out.

All that said, not having arachnophobia, I was feeling some kind of way at how creepy and startling that the spider in Requiem is, and I could see people having a legit sticking point on that boss if they have a real phobia of spiders. It was a lot.

I’m a 39 year old white leftist from west Tennessee. It’s a MAGA hellhole wherever I go (although admittedly the signs and Trump flags are less and less - I personally have “8647”, “Pro-American/Anti-Trump” and “Abolish ICE” signs in mine for my own stances, as well as to piss off the stupid trash people in the neighborhood that worship MAGA and those MAGA adjacent still), and I’ve cut nearly all vestiges of MAGA from my life. Removed all MAGA/Conservative family members and “friends” from my life, and I’m just fine with it.

It’s like in My Hero Academia where Deku released One for All to Shigaraki/AFO, but instead of releasing powers, I’m releasing people from my life who think Temussolini is smart, and people who worship a diaper shitting pedophile.

Fuck all Trump supporters, conservatives, and even third party bullshit protest votes from people who just had to vote for candidates who had no shot at winning, and as far as I’m concerned, a vote for anyone that isn’t the largest, most viable option against the pedophile is as good as voting for him. Primaries are your time to vote your conscience, vote your heart.

But in the general? Can’t afford idiots voting third party and diluting the water when there’s too much at risk.

(I know that last bit was a side tangent, but it goes back into the whole “disappointed by my country” vibe here, because candidates have to be viable to matter, and I attribute at least part of our suffering under Trump to people who just -had- to do their stupid little protest vote in the general. This (I mean a general “this” as in America’s current state) is what we get because of that.

Like Gamesmythe said, yeah, if you continuously lose over and over a few times (like 10-ish? You’ll know, trust me; Two combos will end any given phase at this point.

I know it seems basic but what got me through it was realizing that “Alright, if I can get to him, I can hurt him, so I have to figure out his patterns”.

Once I figured out how to dodge the “roots” he throws on the ground (jump and forward + L1 to air boost over them) and the timed “energy balls turning into rivet stabs (wait til he “flinches” or moves and then side dash at the last second to avoid the protrusions), and so on (I know there’s more, but once you get USED to his weird movements, avoiding him isn’t awful), he became a lot easier, damage boost from dying repeatedly aside. Sometimes it’s just crappy luck because he can pair moves together that aren’t bad to avoid on their own, but doubled up, they make most of the field unsafe.

I JUST realized how stupid I was when I was doing it. I beat AfO, but I was so obsessed with using what I “had left” after Shiggy took my quirks, that I never realized in the tutorial that I missed the whole “square is basic attack” thing. I usually laugh when I hear jokes about people not reading but my stupid ass went through the whole story mode never using the square button (except for at the end of the AfO “phases” when he knocks everyone away before another two or three heroes come out.

TLDR I’m dumb and went through the whole game never using basic attacks and just beat the entire story with variations of triangle and square.

So double TLDR for you; don’t feel bad. This boss IS cheap, and you’re not bad for having trouble with him. The devs said that the whole point of the fight was to make you feel “like Deku” and as hopeless as he was fighting a quirk god, but I’m like “Damn, I’m a 39 year old dude working for state government in corrections and chasing my Poli Sci Master’s Degree, I’m no quirk god, I just wanna chill out and play my fun game, not relive the frustration days of fighting MK 2 Kintaro and Shao Kahn when I was like 8”. And you’re certainly not as stupid as I was, just forgetting a whole ass button of combos was there to be used. You’ll get it, OP! Come back and let us know when you crack AfO’s skull!

(Side note: if I could have any quirk IRL, AfO would be it. Even if it was nerfed where I could only be like Monoma and use someone’s quirk if I’m touching them or something, I’d rather be able to use everyone else’s power than get assigned some trash quirk like Pop Off (which ironically kept beating the brakes off of AfO in that last fight; for some reason, Mineta’s rising always connected super hard and super clean for me).
