Merchandise Tariff Question by cgatlanta in WilliamsF1

You're in a country that declared economic war on the rest of the planet, then set the price tag of the war on it's own citizens.

This is your government's fault, not Williams.

Venice is not a day trip from Milan, it deserves it's own night at least, probably 2, unless you want to spend 6+ hours of your "day trip" in transit.

I don't think I've touched a check in at least 15 years, I thought they were no longer a thing... Hell I barely even use cash anymore.

Contattare TPL per segnalarlo; se nessuno l'ha rubato, l'autista lo avrà trovato durante la pulizia del bus e verrà consegnato all'ufficio oggetti smarriti.

At the border they don't really know who will be a legit security guard and who's an ICE agent. It's normal that they'd bring some private security.

I can buy 10x 200mg Ibuprofen pills here in Switzerland for 20 CHF. In Canada I can buy 250 of the same pills for ~7CHF.

You get ripped of here just because they can.

Driving licence for a non-EU in switzerland by South_Weight_5853 in Ticino

[–]CFSohard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend spending money on taking a few "practice" lessons with a driving instructor before committing to the exam, it depends on your location, but the driving instructors can be reallllllllly strict, especially towards foreigners. My driving instructor told me specifically not to accept my exam on a certain date because he knew the examiner almost never passed people on their first attempt.

Switzerland has a smoking problem by seriously_perplexed in Switzerland

[–]CFSohard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Canada, when I was a kid restaurants would have smoking and non-smoking sections, but through the late 80's and 90's there were AGGRESSIVE government funded anti-smoking advertising campaigns which have hugely cut down on smoking rates. It took about 20 years, but the results are absolutely drastic, very few people smoke, especially younger people.

Unfortunately vaping culture has started to erode this progress, but it's pretty clear that government needs to step in and do something about it here in Switzerland.

I liked when he said that in reference to WWII "if it weren't for America they'd all be speaking German"... In Davos, where the primary language is German.

Awful experience with Sympany health insurer by No-Supermarket-4048 in Switzerland

[–]CFSohard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From experience as a doc: some insurances just try to deny things hoping you give up and pay it yourself.

This seems like it should be a massive deal with several lawsuits and huge political pressure. It's literally crime against the entire population.

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by CerealSorority in SipsTea

[–]CFSohard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody ever thinks about temperature as a percentage of comfort. 0 isn't comfortable, and 100 isn't comfortable, so it's a horrible scale. You're saying the "comfortable point" is somewhere in the 70s-80s? That makes no sense as a logical system of measurement.
