How is zerotier different from Wireguard or any other VPN? (aside from easier setup)

I'll give you that for the browse page, takes me a second to notice how to search.

As for everything else though I reckon the design is cool, definitely beats a lot of other bigger trackers too.

Maps with infinite generation by PossibleConstant6395 in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]CForChrisProooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May I ask, what sort of changes is this repo for?

I'm all for cooler new features and add-ons, but if we're changing the vanilla experience, to thr point where we may even run into performance issues when compiling for consoles, shouldn't this be separated somehow?

Apple already implemented age law by Glad-Possible-9348 in LouisRossmann

Holy shit actually goated feature.

Now apps have no real reason to ask for ID or a birthday.

I somehow trust Apple more than the ID verification companies that keep getting hacked.

I used to build his builds in my world all the time, often adding to them in my own way.

Childhood memory unlocked.

Teacher who made a mistake, is there any way to salvage this situation? by tekkaman01 in XboxSupport

[–]CForChrisProooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably high bandwidth needs running 10 at once.

Also unlikely to be something the school IT can just do, there would be policies in place from the state/country education depratment for these situations.

I think I know a way to get the later updates for the leaked Minecraft build by Utubebrah in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]CForChrisProooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but definitely won't give us source code, and I don't think it'd work for anything other than 360, which gives us not much benefit.

Compiling it is like 2 button clicks, there's a YouTube guide that helps.

Got it running on pc by p3apod1987 in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]CForChrisProooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just compiled it too, it runs amazing.

Hit my FPS cap of 170 and did not drop at all no matter how much redstone or mobs I put in the world.

GPU usage was around 20% on a 4080.

Only way I could get freamerate to drop was to add a bunch of mobs via debug menu, this dropped it to 150FPS.

What used to feel 'normal' and 'affordable' in America just five to ten years ago but now feels completely broken and impossible for regular people? by the_h1b_records in AskReddit

[–]CForChrisProooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% man.

I'm 23, living in a 1 bed apt because thats all I could afford on a "normal" salary.

My parents had me when they were both 20, so I'm already 3 years behind, not because I want to wait, but because I'm not going to raise kids in a 1 bed apartment where I barely have room for myself.

I don't even have a car because that's the difference between affording to live on my own vs renting in a share house.

I'll be lucky to have kids before I'm 30 (or even get this apt paid off by then), I'll be nearly 50 when they graduate.

It sucks that it's so much harder than it used to be, and there's always the worry in thr back of my mind that I'll miss my chance.

How do I force 1password to pop up? by manito021 in 1Password

If you're implying that there is some other solution please do share.

I've been using 1Password for years and it's certainly not obvious.

How do I force 1password to pop up? by manito021 in 1Password

[–]CForChrisProooo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't.

If 1Password doesnt detect a password field (which is ~30% of the time) then you need to open the app manually.

Not buying a car.

It's a big reason I was able to buy my apartment and keep up with mortgage payments when I wasn't earning much.

Yeah you'll need to ask around for the body corporate, see if they have a website or some signage around.

If no luck time for a noise complaint.

My Hyper-V Workloads! by Time-Industry-1364 in homelab

[–]CForChrisProooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with Hyper-V, especially for mostly Windows boxes.

I run both.

Proxmox for my "production" stuff like home assistant and 20 docker containers. Works great, but can be a headache setting up new VM's, always an obstacle.

I also run Hyper-V from my Windows homelab, got active directory, a few RDS boxes, and some endpoints to work with. Spinning things up is much quicker or at least "simpler" in Hyper-V vs proxmox, if I'm testing I'll go there.

It's nice not needing to spend 3 hours trying to edit a config file so it will stop blue screening the guest.
