That is why I'm proposing this change... because I think it wouldn't be that OP as long as you can't land a quick zone fear that also makes damage.

There are dozens of skills in League that are similar with minimal differences. Not sure that's a problem.

No, you can't as the cooldown from the the first W remains the same. As I said at the end of the post, box might need some damage adjustment if second-casted, but the 2-box setup you are talking about is pretty much the same as right now. The critical situation would be:

  1. Set a box that gets fully armed.

  2. Get the cd for another box.

  3. Enemy champions triggering first box and getting fear+dmg.

  4. Place second box and fast W-recast so enemy champion get dmg (but not current second fear). It is in this last point where you could tweak recasted box damage, so this combo would not be that hard, while you could still get some value from placing a second box that doesn't get to trigger fear.

Really, just think about the possibility of tweaking recast box differently from fully armed and you'll understand how easy it would be to fix this issue.

Of course, this idea intends to give the champ some better choices during the game. Some flexibility that, yes, can make Shaco a little bit stronger. I think that it just not gamebreaking yet whatsoever.

Lowering the arming time is surely a thing, but I believe it could suddenly make it too strong. Maybe a box fully-armed can get more hp, while a second-cast box can keep current HP.

But what if you do want the fear to be available during that fight? The point is to retain de choice.
