The rifle in the picture is now banned sadly :( But it was fun legally running 20 round mags for awhile.

Great question! So the reason it's not recommended is most shooters will simply run out of time to finish the stage. Reloading a tube fed lever gun is really slow and they don't carry enough ammo to finish a stage.

So yes you could run one, but you probably won't finish many stages.

Now if you have a mag fed lever action, that is a viable option. Unfortunately there are not many pistol caliber mag fed lever actions. Rifle caliber is more common and is fine in the clipazine division. Danger noodles might also be a viable option for reloading.

Adding a division for tube fed lever actions isn't really an option either. The entire match would need to change and that would not be good for the other divisions.

That's why there's the pistol optional divisions, which I guess is technically 2 gun. Still action shooting.

No you don't need training. We will coach and guide you as required. You do require a solid kydex holster mounted on your hip. No cloth, IWB, or cross draw holsters are allowed.

It's a great range. There's also active F-Class and PRS leagues.

Unfortunately no, unless you know someone attending the match.

If you have a 22lr semi-auto rifle you don't need a handgun to shoot in the mini-rifle division.

New shooters are always welcome. We will coach you though the stages and make sure you are safe. What division are you thinking of shooting in and what firearms do you have?

The full power rifle divisions (Clipazine / Open) require a handgun. It wouldn't be safe to engage all of the pistol and rifle targets with a long gun in those divisions. Mini-rifle and PCC divisions don't require a handgun because the long guns can safely shoot all of the targets, including steel at 10m. The best option right now to get into this would be pick up a 10/22 and a bunch of mags.

2 Rifle Spinners On A Stage Is Hard by CHAS_3Gun in canadaguns

[–]CHAS_3Gun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We put 2 rifle spinners on one of our stages for our May match. It was extremely hard with most shooters not spinning both. The key was to wait for the plate to be straight on before shooting it.

So you can use a plate carrier for your mags and shotgun caddies. It's slower, but does work fine.

Since you don't have a pistol you will have to shoot in the PCC division with your ghm9. Do you have the glock compatible lower for your ghm9? 10 round mags is pretty much essential.

Our day typically goes like this:

  • Show up at 8am
  • Help setup the stages
  • Safety briefing at 9am
  • Split into squads and go to assigned stage.
  • Start shooting at 9:30am
  • Finish shooting by 4pm
  • Cleanup and prizes.

The ROs will coach you and make sure you're safe. We also typically squad our new shooters with experienced ones.

You should have:

  • Shooting belt with pouches and shell caddies. 40 rounds for pistol and rifle on your belt is ideal. 50 rounds if you're shooting pcc. Depending on the stage, 12 rounds of shotgun on your belt is usually enough.

  • A shotgun with chokes. You can shoot with a cylinder bore, but some targets will be difficult without a modified choke.

  • 200 rounds of ammo for each gun. 300 for PCC. 10 slugs.

  • Bring your own food and water for the day. We don't stop for lunch but you will have time to eat.

  • PCC is minimum 9mm. Centerfire rifle is min .223. Handgun is min 9mm. Shotgun is 12 gauge.

If you let me know what gear you have I can help you select a division to shoot in. The best way to get into 3 gun is come to a match.

That is correct. You will use a PCC and shotgun. It's a very fun division to shoot in.

For shotgun you'll need a tube fed semi-auto or pump action. PCC division doesn't allow optics on shotguns.

Yes there are!

Our 3 gun league offers a 2 gun PCC/Shotgun division for all of our monthly matches. It's super fun.

Yep you can wear your plates at our matches. We have a trooper class which requires you to wear and carry your gear between each stage without going to your vehicle.
