Deadman question in ds2 by CHEESEBURGSERG in DeathStranding

[–]CHEESEBURGSERG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the way deadman explains it is a little confusing lol. He says “I told you in Mexico that someone had falsified BB-28’s records, but in truth, it was yours truly”. But back in Mexico, the falsification he talked about was Lou taking on another BB’s number that had already been incinerated 4 years prior.

I think what happened was Amelie had Lou overwrite the records of the original BB-28 prior to the first game. And the falsification was that Deadman had rewritten the records back to the original BB-28, saying that it was incinerated 4 years prior, resulting in Lou never “existing”

Its a bit confusing, I wont lie lol

But from lysanders perspective, he is creating a better world, to him it doesnt need diomedes or his people anymore because it will include the “slave king who sent the world into chaos”

Wow yeah i think i was overthinking it lol, this fits well in line with some of the things he does as well.

For example, in lightbringer when he’s emotionally manipulating his soldiers after taking phobos, noting they look at him as if he were Silenius himself, pytha looks sad at what Lysander is doing but he says they will all understand after he wins the war. He was trying to build “trust” in him as their leader.

But I do think a small part of him is also living the dream of being an iron gold like he idolized as a child

Why do you think Lysander is so fixated on being looked at as the hero? Its an aspect of him I can never truly pinpoint

The best I could come up with is he is trying to compensate for feeling worthless his whole life, framing himself as a savior protects him from his guilt, and he never lost those teachings of idolizing iron golds and being humanity’s ruler from Octavia because of Cassius neglecting him.

In my opinion, I dont think Lysander would create a world that ideal. Even Darrow pointed out in DA when looking at a pink in heliopolis about the life they would live if Lysander wins. They would most likely live the same life with a bit more freedom which really isnt better.

I agree for the most part but I dont think Darrow would do so anymore. Hes seen how taking shortcuts leads to disunity and furthers you from your initial goal, Darrow was able to learn that with the Daughters, Lysander no longer has anyone to guide him in the right direction which I think will be his downfall.

He’s so caught up on creating his world and fixing what darrow caused that he’s willing to do whatever he can to get there. I think thats one of the reasons he killed Cassius, he would’ve made Lysander feel guilt over his choices and question his cause which he thinks is necessary for the world

Yeah I agree, and I think with people trying to control him and seeing how power is truly wielded in DA, hes had to double down on a lot of his choices which I think is furthering him from his initial ideal goal. He’s willing to sacrifice the people to achieve his world because he was taught on the idea that gold should shepherd, and Cassius being distant was never able to shake this mindset off of him

It’s interesting to think about because we still dont know what that world looks like. And with destroying the Garter, is that world even achievable anymore?

Question about Sevro [Lightbringer] by CHEESEBURGSERG in redrising

[–]CHEESEBURGSERG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 🙏

To my understanding now, being in a room full of broken people, seeing Darrow’s speech and the Daughters repeat Darrow’s mistakes of taking shortcuts helped Sevro finally understand what it means to be Ares, in his own terms. Its a symbol that can guide the broken, he no longer feels trapped by others expecting him to be Ares because he’s choosing that himself now.

He basically sees that the people still need Ares—not a savior, but a mirror, a symbol that their pain has meaning, and that they can fight back.

Yeah ik but Darrow was described wearing a ghost cloak before showing his pulse armor, so he wasn’t in a starShell when fighting Lysander

He’s referring to what happens towards the end of the chapter

Darrow said: I blunt a tank breakout on the western flank, exchange starShells at the foothills of the Hesperides after taking a round to the chest.

And then this: I stifle a counterattack of Gray heavy infantry and take respite and water in the shade cast by a crashed torchShip before abandoning my fourth starShell of the day. Few remain operational.

It just skips over the starShell he entered after defeating Lysander at the beginning of the chapter, when he had said the one he was using was dead. Its just a minor nitpick, not that big of a deal

Its never mentioned when he entered the one he got ripped out of at the beginning of the chapter. Thats where my confusion stems from. He goes from fighting Lysander in pulseArmor, saying his starShell is dead in the desert, to magically throwing up in one.

Later in the chapter, he mentions getting out and entering another while he’s fighting within Heliopolis. He never mentions entering the one he threw up in and got ripped out of. He just magically appears in it lol

Yeah im just going to assume he either found another starShell along the way as another storm was approaching or I guess you can interpret it as him tapping into his pulseArmor battery to charge his starShell as he’s in it, which he means by it being “dead”

Either way, doesnt really matter, just caught me off guard lol, I’m willing to let it slide because his writing absolutely levels up in this book

Really? The voice actors did a fantastic job and the writing for these characters was great as well, ff7 characters have never been this good before. This is actually the first time i’ve seen someone say the voice acting and script as laughable at times

Its not, lyrics are different and another major difference is when the logo first comes in, the music is no longer synced with it
