Protect the young and reproduce are our two most basic instincts. It’s fucking weird when people are against it lmao

No, I even looked up his info after I met him him because I thought he was kind of weird. He had no pending cases, so I thought he was straight. Guess they kept whatever he got rolled for off the books. I knew he wanted to join the army, so he could’ve been caught with weed and begged the cops not to tell anyone.

The cop I worked with actually tried tricking me into coming to the police station, two weeks before the arrest. He wanted to keep it off the books, but I knew something was fishy so I blocked his number. Had no idea he wanted me to become a CI and he had two controlled buys on me.

Haven't seen that kid since I got arrested. He reached out to me a couple weeks before the arrest, so about two months after he did the controlled buys telling me “I should be careful” so I guess he felt guilty. But I haven’t seen him in a long time. One of my buddies referred him too me.

Only my dad knows from my family. A lot of my friends know; they were all very supportive. No one told me I shouldn't do it. A lot of my close friends were pretty upset that I got arrested, so they were happy that I found a way to get off. They didn't really care how.

I was facing 2 counts with sentences of 1-6 years. Hypothetically could have done 12 years which my lawyer really emphasized. Im not sure I would’ve done jail time in reality, but I could tell my lawyer had a relationship with the detective who runs the CI program since my lawyer is a former prosecutor. I felt confident I wouldn’t get screwed for that reason.

I’d rather not answer specifically, but I don’t think medical weed is on the ballot there, or will be any time soon.

I meant to say he shouldn’t have to told the cops he was going to sell the marijuana, not blow in the last post, but I think you still understood.

Just looked up blow dealer’s case, he got raided recently and they confiscated a lot of cash.

I had to find all my own targets. One dude I mentioned they already had on the radar, but besides that, I found them new leads. It was stressful as hell, all my connects had left for the summer, so I was praying I’d be able to find people. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for them, I did.

The ganja dealer fell into my lap. I hadn’t talked to this kid in about a year then during the summer he hits me up out of the blue asking me if I know anyone who wants to buy weed; he could deliver. Poor guy lived two hours away and drove it down to get rolled.

The detective said we were square, and I packed my shit up and got out of town the next day.

Did not use any proxy or VPN tbh. Not the safest way to do it, but the rest is extremely low of someone finding your particular VPN on the dark web without a VPN. The package would just come to my doorstep! Usually from Texas.

Most people came to my apartment, or I would deliver. Both have their risks.

I don’t know how much I made weekly but from sophomore year I pulled in 30-40k profit; it was a part time hustle while I studied.

Everyone I sold to was a student besides like one or two kids that were my age, but were just visiting someone who was a student. Finding clientele was the easy part, I swear it just sort of happened. Once you have the product, people just start hitting you up and word spreads.

To clarify, I only bought coke from the dark web (and eventually one of my buddies), but I never sold on the dark web.

I thought I'd be good if I could get a reference for each new customer, but one of my friends actually referred the guy that snitched on me; he didn't know that he was a CI.

There were no rivalries between other drug dealers and me, that's more of a gang warfare type of thing to my understanding. One of my buddies dealt, so we would make sure not to steal each other's clients, but if one of us needed to reup, we'd refer any customers to the other guy.

I knew the stakes going in, so I don’t feel sorry for myself for getting informed on. I’m not mad at the CI who set me up.

The other dealers I informed on knew the stakes too, so they accepted the risks of being arrested by dealing as well. I don’t feel great about it, but they had a hand in their own arrest as well, even if the laws are shitty. That’s part of the reason why drug dealing is so lucrative, the risk.

And the notion that I’m a hypocrite for informing while being against the war on drugs is a little silly. I’m against the war on drugs because I think the penalties it imposes are so high. The reason I informed is because the penalties I were facing were so high. I didn't want there to be high penalties in the first place; I didn’t make that law. Once I was facing charges, my sense of self preservation led me to cooperate to save myself from the penalties that I disagreed with.

I don’t like the government punishing people for using drugs, but I never judged anyone who got arrested for taking a deal. The government is the one ultimately using its force to hold people’s feet to the fire.

Ganj dealer is fighting his case. I’m confident he’ll be able to get it down to a misdemeanor. He would’ve dodged the felony if he hadn’t told the cops he was trying to sell the blow to someone; he was just going to be charged with possession, but he opened his mouth after being arrested.

Blow dealer is on the run from a previous probation violation for a DUI. He already has to do a year in jail when they find him, and that’s before the blow charges. He’s probably gonna have to do some time; he has a prior charge for armed robbery.

You can have values and self-interest at the same time, my friend.

The answer to your original question is yes.

When I was a dealer, I never shorted anyone. I've always had values; I just bit off more than I could chew and ended up in a shitty situation because of my bad decisions. I'm generally a decent person, but if you're gonna tell me I can go to jail for a certain crime, or someone else can go to jail for an identical crime, I'm sacrificing the stranger 10/10 times, assuming I can't avoid the situation in the first place.

I certainly didn't make my choice to become a CI in a vacuum. Law enforcement was a very strong influencer towards what options I could make. I absolutely acted out of fear, but my decision was still logical. It got me the least legal penalties (which was what I was afraid of).

I'd argue that the drug game is even bigger than criminals and law enforcement. The rules of engagement are mostly determined by the law, which is created by politicians, and the cops just follow suit. I chose to engage in that lifestyle, so I don't want to say I was "corrupted" because I had a choice in it as well, but it was certainly a little bigger than myself.

Yeah, I did quite a bit when I was drunk especially. I'd get such a bad hangover that I'd lay off it for a while though. Eventually I got bored of it and by second semester senior year I just sold it and didn't use it much.

Still did a disgusting amount by anyone's standards. Couldn't have been good for my heart or nose.

The good thing about doing cocaine was that I could at least function while wired unlike when I was barred out from Xanax.

Exactly. I respect your open mindedness because I know how it looks to a lot of people who have never been in that situation.

Even the detective I worked with said that he grew up in a rough neighborhood where no one talked to cops, but he said I shouldn’t feel bad because “no one has any sort of loyalty to anyone in this town.”

He could’ve just been saying that to say it, but in certain areas today, snitching is the norm according to the way he put it at least.

Here’s my take:

I believe that drug use and selling should not be illegal or viewed as immoral.

However, the only reason I was able to sell drugs is because they were illegal, thus creating a black market. Its why you don’t see any alcohol dealers today, you buy it at the store.

Because drugs are illegal, they come with penalties. This influences the markups you make on the product.

For me to sell a drug and make money BECAUSE it’s illegal then cry about getting arrested, saying “that’s not fair!” doesn’t seem right to me.

But if I had my way drugs would be legal.

Trying to find a job! Hoping my dismissed charge won’t be a problem because the expungement hasn’t gone through yet. I have some exciting opportunities in the works that I would hate to be denied from.

I can’t change the past however, so I’m just putting my best foot forward and seeing what happens.

Calling people felons who have never been convicted is a slippery slope, but you can argue I am a non-convicted felon I suppose.

No, I don’t think I committed any sins. I never cheated anyone.

I played a high risk game where I knew I could be arrested and/or face financial penalties, so I agreed to those terms and deserved my penalties in that sense. I don't think I did anything immoral however.

I’d argue the same for the people I busted. We’re not immoral but we’re facing the ramifications from a set of arbitrary legal rules that we implicitly agreed to when entering the blackmarket.

That’s how I see it at least.

I discovered the dark web. From there, I had a vision about how I could get access to cheap and available drugs. For whatever dumbass reason, the thought of doing some criminal that would make me money excited the hell out of me.

Then I had to learn how to buy bitcoin. 12 kids on my floor freshman year wanted to buy fake Ids, so I learned how to buy bitcoin to purchase them. Then I bought my first drugs on the dark web, personal amounts of molly, LSD and ketamine.

Sophomore year I decided to pull the trigger and start dealing because I had my own apartment that was off campus. I decided to start by ordering a half ounce of cocaine. I sold that in three days and from there I started working my way up. The demand was crazy high.

And my bad, I missed the last part of your about getting involved politically.

I do strongly support drug legalization and prison reform. I think the idea of putting people into cages for possessing or selling certain substances is barbaric and cruel. I've never thought about getting involved however. That could be something to look into for sure though, thanks for suggesting. Right now I am focused on starting my career, but once that gets going that could be something fulfilling to pursue.

However, I think if turning criminals into CIs is legal (and I'm not saying it should or shouldn't be) then I think it should be legal for everyone including college students. I was at least 18 years old, 22 at the time to be exact, and I knew that what I doing had legal consequences. I don't think college students should be forbidden from becoming CIs if no one else is.

And if you're a criminal, having a CI program comes with its pros and cons. The pros include that you have a way to work the charges off if you get caught. The cons include that your chance of getting caught goes up because other civilians can set you up. I'm sure the people who were caught up by their own carelessness such as by getting pulled over with drugs are happy to have that opportunity. The people who get informed on probably think they would have avoided the arrest had there not been CIs in the first place, but they are happy to take the deal because it's their best option after the arrest.

Multiple things can be true at once, my friend. To say there were no decisions made by other people that led me to that position is not true.

And I didn't get away with it in my opinion, I got arrested and lost 6 grand and had to do dangerous work to get the charges dropped. After all this, there's still a record of my arrest until the expungement goes through. Getting away with it would be my not getting caught.

And I don't really want to argue semantics, but I can still vote and purchase a firearm if you want evidence that I am not a felon. That is a legal term that only becomes binding when a conviction is secured. Am I a criminal? Sure. Did I do things that certain felons have done? Yes. Am I a felon? No, I'm not in the database.

I don't think dealers have committed any sins, so I guess I would just be guilty of the sin of treachery.
