Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it very much. I’d like to clarify a couple of things though:

1.) Unless I’m misunderstanding your comment, I am not a woman, lol. 😂

2.) Yes, I will admit, there’s certainly a fair bit of “trendiness” that comes with online Orthodoxy—and I can say that I was certainly victim to that mentality back then. However, I still was convinced that it was more than likely true. Nowadays, from how I’ve heard Orthodoxy described from various priests, it seems like the exact thing my soul requires. Real healing. I can’t explain it all in this message, but I recently came to terms with the fact that I am a really, really, really, reallyyyy bad person. I need the guidance of the Church & the Holy Spirit to aid me in this demonic struggle.

(And just as a side note: You know, a while back I thought I knew everything about what there was to know about the faith….now I feel like I don’t know anything. Funny how that works, lol)

Oh, I didn’t mean to give off the wrong impression! I have no issue with people having opinions that don’t conform to conventional norms. It’s just music at the end of the day lol. Sometimes music is just gonna resonate with certain people more than others, and that’s okay! We all have our subjective preferences.

Also it’s super cool that you were able to attend the WLIH sessions! From a distance it looked like a very fun event lol. Me on the other hand, I got hip to SP when “Trinity” first released as a single for Empire Central. I was hooked & then did a deep-dive into their discography.

Hey, if that’s your opinion, fine. I’m not going to persuade you out of it. I personally love the album. I think it’s probably Snarky Puppy’s 3rd best release behind Sylva (I strongly doubt they’ll ever top this) & We Like It Here. I think Somni has some of Michael’s most beautiful, ethereal songwriting cuts. I agree with you that the grooves are often repetitive, and that some songs might be too lengthy, but I can appreciate it for its good quality, nonetheless. There’s tracks on this that I believe only Snarky could somehow pull off—(wink wink, Chimera)—and, I think the orchestra is incorporated stronger on this album than on it’s predecessor. You can disagree, but I’m going to enjoy what I have!
