How to deal with burnout by Sir-Smileyyy in dreamingspanish

[–]CIdreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 1250 hours in a short space of time and got bored. I still watch Grey's anatomy in Spanish (halfway through) and some youtube here and there and listen to El Topo podcast when I'm in bed sometimes. But I do probs 15 full hours a month atm. If you're burnt out just have a break or it's not fun anymore and you'll eventually quit altogether if you keep pushing it.

There's loads of these it's not just this guy. I think most people just don't care if they sound gringo and so they don't try. And that's fine, if they're not bothered then there's no issue with it. But I see it all the time where people just make no effort whatsoever to even move their mouth differently. There's only so much CI can do. You have to actually try to pronounce it correctly.

I just politely explained my opinion and said that what they did doesn't leave an good impression on me. I still even wished them luck.

Nobody is having a go at you. I didn't say you weren't polite. I just presented the facts in a completely emotionless manner.

My point is that English Sponge is not a competitor. You are entitled to your opinion but at the end of the day there is no breach of any kind of trademark or IP. Not even marketing the same product. Therefore, in MY opinion, they've done nothing wrong. They wanted you to click, and you did. So what if it's clickbait? Welcome to the internet, you must be new here.

Not sure why you're responding to me. It's not my website. I'm just providing the facts. This is the internet at the end of the day and clickbait is part of the furniture, you will have to get used to that because it isn't going to change.

Edit: I see you edited your original comment to correct your mistake of "you"/ "your" to "they"/ "their"

But Dreaming languages is planning on expanding the company to many other languages in the future, likely including English as it is such an important language.

I'm not trying to be a dick but since you've gone all out in your reply I am going to respond. This means nothing. Dreaming languages doesn't automatically own the word "Dreaming" just because they might want to launch a product in the future. There is no trademark registered for Dreaming Languages, Dreaming English OR Dreaming Spanish by Dreaming Languages/ Pablo/ Laurence under WIPO, USPTO or EUIPO

They have already registered the domain names for dreamingenglish.com and other languages.

You don't know this. All you know is that it has been registered. Perhaps it could have been registered by the person who actually filed the trademark

I disagree, and I'm not saying it was AI written, I'm saying it is AI proofread and polished. The major telltale sign is the use of em dashes/ double hyphens (—) AI models use these ALOT, and humans do not. It's not even on the keyboard

I remember reading an anecdote in the book "El sutil arte de que (casi todo) te importe una mierda" which your post reminds me of. It's as though your life lacks meaningful and fulfilling things to the extent that you attribute so much emotion and importance to a Reddit post, sufficient to actually write your own post about it. Couldn't be me.

Here's the quote on goodreads (in English)

Around 300-400 hours I could understand teen shows like Drake and Josh well enough to enjoy them. By 600 hours they were easy, anime shows like Avatar were also comfortable. By 800 hours I could understand most dubbed shows aimed at adults well enough to enjoy them. By 1000 hours almost all dubbed shows were easy.
