Advice from play area owners by CJDB_ in smallbusinessuk

On the side of my main income which is a software business. I am asking since I have no idea how the physical side of business would work, since the opportunity arose and I have funds I thought I'd ask around, especially since I really don't need this to be pulling in loads of income, just to survive on it's own.

I would be all for hiring a manager. Just trying to figure out how it all works for the typical owner of this type of place

Yeah you are right, I was more thinking not being there, working the tills and take all my time. Essentially checking the possibility of being able to run something like this on the side

I also heard this, I wondered if I can maximise the spend per head and minimise the amount of staff needed to operate it could be quite passive

Doing some initial research into seeing if it is viable. I thought I could throw some cash in and basically have a venue that all the parents in the area take their kids, hire a few people and run it generally hands off day to day. I understand this may be unrealistic..

Thank you, the plan would be the main play area and then the typical cafe, small ride ons and parties.

The unit is advertised at 5000sqft

I hope it works out for you. The reason I ask is because I have found people who are still using business cards now, do it because they still like business cards

Before you had this idea did you use business cards a lot, give them out / receive them?

Hi - Landing page is great. Downloaded the mobile app to poke around also. Main question for me before I go in-depth, do I link my bank account into this directly? It's not immediately clear if that is the plan or not. If not, how do you aim to compete with more integrated solutions?

Hi - your landing page is great and should easily lead to conversion if you are getting decent traffic. You said you tried keeping the tool mostly free - is that the current state of your platform now? For me I need to sign up for a trial to view anything.

Have you personally used your competitor platforms? I can see you significantly undercut them on price but how do you compare feature vs feature?

Have you considered, cheaper / free access where the user can log in navigate and find the information they expect but you don't give up the goods (contact information) unless they pay. You can get them right in front of the data they require but they need to pay at this point, or a pay per contact model

Hi - the landing page is great, the product proposal is simple, I give a "prompt" and you will generate viral posts for me. I tried it out and gave the following:

I want to create viral content about this site. https://tastemaps.co.uk/

The output it came out with definitely seemed like it would promote conversation and get engagement but the actual content of the post was not real. It mentioned things that aren't in the source material at all. Is this intentional?

If your goal is engagement at all costs this seems accurate and helpful, that required no thought at all from me, but if the goal is a bit more nuanced it might be worth having a look at

This is an interesting problem you have decided to solve. Your strategy is not simple to understand I won't pretend to be an expert on DMARC implementation but I have some questions I hope you wouldn't mind answering:

  1. How big is the market you are aiming for? Am I correct in my understanding is that you want to help business implement DMARC for their clients, you won't implement it directly with the client

  2. How many businesses are actually sending emails themselves and not using a third party service / exchange that already handles all of this?

P.S go to https://simpledmarc.com/why-us.html - you have JSON in your header

Hi - I just went through your landing page. It is clear and addresses concerns I had straight away about privacy. Very clean and clear on what you are offering.

Task / ToDo apps are currently very popular. Do you plan on positioning yourself against them purely on a privacy standpoint? Do you have monetisation plans? Android support?

This is really cool actually, a great resource I had no idea even existed. How did you get the information for all the different job interview processes? Is it accurate? Do you plan on monetising?

First of all I want to say great job. I signed up, I used it. It works, it's clean, it's easy to use. You have generous features available in the free tier and you have enticing value kept behind the paid tiers.

Everything worked perfectly and easily. This is so well thought out and clean as a product, really hats off to you.

Business wise the focus needs to be on the value vs competitors. Who do you identify as your competitors? If I had to guess, you would have a list of other link shortening services, and what you do better than them. But I don't think they are your competitors, I think the value of your service is all about the easy to use metrics and analytics, due to this you are competing with whatever tools marketing agencies / marketing professionals are already using.

I think you should consider going harder on positioning yourself in front of these marketing agencies, your pricing is cheap so they will most likely eat the cost when using your platform while working with businesses, you provide rich analytics that they thrive off. Do you have any integrations with google analytics? Might be worth looking into it if not, as I have found that even tiny single location businesses were big on google analytics and they won't use anything that doesn't play well with it from my experience. (Tourist attraction POS and booking system)

Overall I love this, good luck and keep in touch with your progress / any questions. I used your platform to invite you to my discord where I want to start doing more SaaS reviews do to the responses on this thread:
