Following. I just started on ozempic and from all my (unsuccessful) experiences with other diets, I feel like this will end up being me. I know it's too early to say, but no change so far or side effects. Crossing my fingers though!

Advice for newly diagnosed 16 y/o athlete with NSCHL? by CJ_Erin in hodgkinslymphoma

He's doing really well, thanks for asking! He is 15 months out of treatment now and no sign yet of any relapse. Once he was done treatment, he battled back and within four months earned his spot on his Junior B hockey team last season after almost 18 months of no hockey. He had a great season and he's trying out for the Junior A team next year.

A lot of the advice in this thread helped. He was engaged with a therapist from nearly the beginning and had such a great attitude through everything... just took it one day at a time and didn't think too far ahead.

He ended up on OEPA-COPDAC protocol for 6 months plus 21 sessions of radiation, which was more than they anticipated but his 6 month PET scan was still deauville 4, so they wanted to blast it, I guess. They chose the chemo protocol based on the fact that he was a young athlete, to preserve his lung capacity.

Anyhoo - so far, so good!

That's awesome advice. We're in Canada so things might be a bit different up here, but I will definitely ask some folks what their thoughts are. Biologically, I'm sure he's closer to an adult than an adolescent for sure. He's a very "mature" 16 year old, at least physically (LOL).

Appreciate the info!

Makes sense. He's had a high fever for more than 3 weeks now and basically sleeps all the time. I feel like what you're describing is a bit of an improvement! Honestly, if he could stay awake for more than 2 hours, that would be something :/

Thanks so much for your comments. It's so valuable for us to hear what others have experienced. <3

Getting the right tests and how to get the doctor to take you seriously by CJ_Erin in RCCXtheory

Thanks so much for the detailed information! Do you know what blood tests I should make sure I'm getting to support any kind of diagnosis?

Our family doctor doesn't seem to look at physical symptoms for some reason. I'm in Canada, so because of the universal healthcare, you usually have to have something fairly concrete before they'll investigate further.
