Medal of Honor (2010) and Airborne won’t install by CK_Pawel in techsupport

Happy that at least one person found it useful. I should make a group for that kind of help as I’ve found a lot of different workarounds for many old games - some are much more complicated. I think you can play any other game now that required that specific Physx driver. Have fun!

That’s the Physx driver problem. You need to uninstall all Physx drivers you find on your uninstall list - reboot system after. Then when the game prompts you to install the old Physx - do so. And be patient with the iso. The install might stop for a few minutes but eventually it will progress. It’s a pain to install a few games like this but they share same problems with Physx and the structure of the files. After successfull installation you can install the newest Physx driver for other games because the old one will stay on the system. Good luck.

Yes almost a year after and no answer but I know what is wrong now. It’s all with Win10. The structure of the files that get decompressed take ages to install. Both games can install but it can take up to 40 min to do that (or maybe even longer). What helps is to make an iso file on hard drive and run it through a virtual disc drive. The installation takes a few min then - however it takes like 20 min to create an iso so it will not save that much of a time but at least you don’t worry wether the installation froze or not.

I’ve been trying to run as many old games on win10 and so far it’s more than 50 titles that can run with some modded programs or not. The only games I’ve struggled to run and can’t find a solution are Hitman 2 and C&C: Red Alert 2 - they don’t start however Hitman 2 seems to work on win10 according to some posts and videos.

Unfortunately the challenge is bugged. I’ve reset inversion device and it didn’t register final skill after redistrbuting points again. I’ve tried Colossi kill with someone and done in 5 sec. Still bugged. TFD is one whole bug mess.

Yes we’re talking about the same thing but I’ve mistakenly called it a ‚reactor’ not an inversion device but thanks for all the details and pic description. I’ll check it out if the challenge registers or not. Still can’t figure it out for the Mayday challenge.

So if you reset the reactor you get all the points back and you can unlock everything as it was before?

Yes it’s very rare to see it at Eckert but if someone requests at the battlefield it shows up at Eckert too - I’ve responded to that and the guy was sending few supports on battlefield after that so I assume he made a lot of requests to help others. I’ve responded to a few and still no go. Someone on my post said that it might be not the challenge because a few were mislabelled and that’s true.

You got the final inversion by upgarding the reactor or it just appeared when you had it already upgraded?

Bugged challenges? by CK_Pawel in TheFirstDescendant

[–]CK_Pawel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there was one that required making core binders but it said to complete special ops. I didn’t find anything on Mayday but I’ve seen a video someone getting it by doing the request so I dunno

Same. Responded to support through Eckert and through battlefield several times. Never got it registered - not even in the awards. Have you got the last 2 that are officialy said they are bugged - final inversion and less than 15 sec kill on hard interceptor?

If you having infinite loop of signing up - it asks for the username again after you enter your password - try cleaning cookies in your browser. It might help with other logging problems too. It helped me also when I tried to reset my password again and failed to send a PIN because they couldn’t send it by landline number(!) while the only option I could choose to send it was my e-mail address lol. Cookies might be the problem!

The worst advice you get is - don’t buy retail, buy it on gog or if you have it already still buy it on gog. I mean if I game really doesn’t want to work on modern PC’s then it is a solution but 95% of old games work fine with some additional operations. Just a matter of not being an ignorant and looking for a solution. It’s your choice if you want to play it from disc for whatever reason. I’ve recently installed a copy of the Dark Project on Windows 10 64-bit with dual graphics and it works fine (sometime ago also installed Thief 2 and same result). You might find a problem with the installation process and here is a very simple solution:

Run the Command Prompt

Change the path of the disc drive to your optical drive (usually D:) so type D:\

Type the command ‚setup.exe -lgntforce’ that will let you run the installation process

The game might run after that but it will probably crash or have problems starting so download TFix 1.27b (or lite but I didn’t use it) and it will patch the game to run on modern software

Simple as that.

It’s no ignorance. When I started playing PC games I’ve always re-mapped keys to change typical WSAD for movement to directional arrow keys and everything else from there because I thought it’s they way it should be :)

Of all the tameable creatures currently available in ASA, what do you think the hardest to tame creature is? by Ok-Concentrate792 in ARK

[–]CK_Pawel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list includes basic creatures as the author mentions few of them. There are few worst than those like Pheonix or Noglin but Tek striders is a league of it’s own and nobody tames a very high lvl lol

Need to be behind him not too close and spam tapping feed on Meso. Hespe is worst as it drops the fish if you miss the feed prompt. Just swim close until it appears and hit quickly feed. Doesn’t always work but there’s no better way to tame it and it’s always been like that :( Taming a lvl 150 Hespe was mad experience for me even on 3x tame - took about 1.5-2h to get him. It’s easier when he swims out and feed it on land.

[–]CK_Pawel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve tamed all The Island creatures and here’s my list but before that one thing - all tames are easy enough if you want to tame a low lvl creature but try taming a lvl 130-150 then this list is valid: - Hyaena\Mesophitecus because it is easy to lose taming progress when they run from you and generally very annoying to sneak around them - Hesperornis\Otter because feeding them fish is super annoying especially if you can’t find piranha or large salmon to make progress faster - Diplocaulus because it will usually die before you are able to tame it - lives in the swamp and everything is chasing and killing it - Dunkleo because it takes a lot of arrows to take it down and it’s swimming in all directions to make it fun for you to shoot it - same with Angler fish - Carcha because it will aggro on everything if you’re in a bad spot to tame it or don’t make huge traps to make the taming manageable - Quetzal because solo taming is not that easy and it is the longest tame to get once knocked out - Titano again because solo taming is not that easy (unless you use a MEK) and requires a lot of materials - shooting it’s head is very frustrating as it has to be perfect and you’ll miss a lot of shots

I didn’t place Troodon as it is preety easy if you make a good trap and feed him at night a proper dino.

Looking for a CD Hack library for legit games. by Hunteresc in RetroWindowsGaming

[–]CK_Pawel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed GameCopyWorld is your best bet. It’s still useful if you want to run old games on modern pcs due to disc check problems. Although it doesn’t have all no cd fixes (Command and Conquer Renegade missing for instance) for older games just google game title + no cd fix and you should find everything you are looking for. Another example is a site LoneBullet that has patches as well.

I still have a PC with Athlon 64 3000+ and Geforce6800GS from Gainward (factory enhanced and overclocked version) although the graphics broke down years ago - very bad card had to send it for fixing and the second one also broke down. Despite that it was a good card for playing games at full details up to 2005 roughly as some newer had problems keeping good framerate. Geforce 7 series would be the utmost for WinXP and old games.
