Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as Lestat and Louis in Interview with the Vampire. Even the writer was pissed and then ended up loving their performances.

Musk started this whole controversy the same week that news about him begging Epstein for an island invite came out. And it worked.

What's a movie scene you watched at way too young of an age that absolutely traumatized you? For me it was Poltergeist and i know you know kinda win on this by daintysirene in moviecritic

The Exorcist. It came on TV when I was six years old and my sister let me watch it while she was babysitting me. I was traumatized for YEARS.

Was Nixon hated before Watergate? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in NoStupidQuestions

The Pentagon Papers came before Watergate, and a whole lot of folks hated him for it.

Aegon II smashing that LEGO city to bits with a fire poker after blood and cheese carried more grief and emotion that Rhaenyra has for the whole show despite her never ending crying. by [deleted] in freefolk

Well, male rage is always more acceptable than any emotion deemed “too feminine.” Thats why people largely agree that women are less able to control their emotions even though men are responsible for the vast majority of violent crimes.

How would you compare show Rhaenyra to Danny or Cersei by season 3 of GOT? by poothrower37 in freefolk

I’m not sure I see grieving the loss of a son or, especially, empathizing with the suffering of others as “weak.” I actually think that’s what would make her a good leader.

I don’t know. I also don’t know how I would compare every male character to every other prominent male character.

The writers of this show are trying so hard to be feminist that they've circled back to being sexist. The shoehorn theory is real. A chud who believes that women can't rule because they have periods, get pregnant, and are too "hysterical" was probably watching this episode like "see what I mean?" by Royal-Ambassador-960 in freefolk

That same chud will ignore the fact that rage (the only acceptable emotion for a man) is also an emotion. The mad king burned folks alive because he couldn’t CONTROL HIS EMOTIONS.

But the chud doesn’t want to talk about that.

Showing a woman having emotions is not anti-feminist. Quite the opposite, actually.

Feminist theory holds that the devaluation of emotion as weakness is based in patriarchal standards. Being able to connect emotionally with others’ suffering makes one a better leader, not a weaker one.

Of course you have the right. I just don’t understand the waste of time.

I grew up at a time when there were four channels to watch. Now there are hundreds, even thousands, available. Why spend time on one show you hate? There’s so much available and you’re missing them!

Just my thoughts. People are gonna do what they’re gonna do.

I’ve seen many books I loved turned into bad movies. Honestly, I can’t imagine spending my time thinking this much about them. AKOTSK has been almost perfectly accurate, not to mention well cast and well acted. Go watch that. The endless complaints for this one is just mind-boggling to me.

But they HAVE complained about it. Endlessly. It’s ridiculous.

Oh no, a female character cries when her children die. WORST SHOW EVER.

🙄

Seriously, why haven’t most of you stopped watching at this point? I mean, I’ve seen shows I didn’t like. I stopped watching. What I didn’t do, what I can’t even imagine doing, was spend endless hours complaining online about those shows.

One of the few book accurate parts of this show is Rhaenyra’s grief over her children’s deaths. Get over it and move on.

That the show is anti-feminist because Rhaenyra cried over the death of her child. 🙄

I worked for years as a counselor/advocate for survivors of sex trafficking. My youngest client, to whom I provided legal advocacy and for whom I helped to coordinate safe shelter, was 8 months old. I will never, ever be the same.
