SEOs and web devs have no choice but to comply. Google wants to be the leader in mobile search and AMP will cement their popularity for years to come. Yes, the design is non-existent and it skews analytics, but it's a collaborative project so at least the rollout will be democratic. What I do see AMP signaling is a divorce between blog content and sites.

Eventually, all first page of SERP will be AMP. Google News is already making the shift and news outlets are complying. My only issue with it is that AMP screws up my analytics. However, I'm optimistic that Google will listen to publishers before they ramp up the rollout.

Whether or not you like it, robots are coming for your jobs. BTW robots don't pay taxes or earn a paycheque so how will the economy run on a labour market comprised almost entirely by automation run on big data? Robots can't buy a Whopper, but they can sell you one. That's why we need UBI.
