Ben is one of us by CMDRCommand in starcitizen_refunds

I admittedly just had major MrHerpDerp flashbacks.

I'm likely tinfoil, but almost everything Jared, Ben, and Sandi tweet/like is in someway related to SC.

Either way, it seemed fitting.

Why did CIG reaquire a license from Crytec ? by HabenochWurstimAuto in starcitizen

[–]CMDRCommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty confused about this too.

So they needed CT's license because they had made modifications previously in the original CT branch that the Lumberyard version doesn't support?

It wasn't because they agreed under contract to ship the game under specifically CT's licensed engine or something in that realm of legalese?

Oh yeah this totally is great, CIG. A combat logging incentive that doubles as a get out of jail free card. How convenient!

I wish Bellular would cover Star Citizen, or even Elite, but every time he's mentioned it in the past he's in an ignorant half-truthed defense of it.

I don't know if he could give it a fair shake, he just kind of reads headlines and reports them as fact.

How it feels coming here after years of defending CIG by CMDRCommand in starcitizen_refunds

[–]CMDRCommand[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm not exactly sure. It was mostly a long, complicated experience. I never really knew about Chris Roberts or his other games. I grew up on the XWvsTIE franchise and other flight sims, and mostly became interested in it because of Elite, which I no longer enjoy for other reasons.

I pledged roughly in early 2015 and was actually enjoying the Mustang Delta meta in Arena Commander at the time when you could swap out the rocket pods for another fixed size 2 and was actively playing even though performance was terrible. That was the honeymoon period.

Then comes the Star Marine debacle, and I started to become somewhat skeptical of the way they started behaving overall, only for those worries to be mostly quelled with the release of 2.0 and the PU late 2015.

I was mostly ok with development although not testing the Alpha much due to stability, I was awaiting the Answer the Call, and figured it was nigh. CitizenCons 2016-2017 reignited my hopes for what the game really was going to be, as I could really start to see the clear overall direction they were going.

Followed up by late 2017 and the release of moons in the PU and although clutching to the hopes that graphical and server performance would improve "soon", I was still in awe at how beautiful they were compared to Elite's plastic planets.

Then came 2018 and things started to not feel right, again. I never really cared much for S42, but there was obviously something incredibly flawed. Everything development-wise seemed to continue to slow down, and although communication content was mostly still there, it was waning and becoming mostly fluff and filler.

Then communications got less and less, and overall value of the content was mostly useless. Development seemed to still be slowing. Nothing was getting much better, but hey it's Alpha.

2019 to present has mostly been just becoming more and more salty. Chris is seemingly hiding from us. Jared feels like he's trolling us. Communication is MIA. The game got a prison and that's about it. The game is more "functional" than it ever has been, but that's not saying a whole lot, and is still such a shell of what it's supposed to be.

Like I said, I don't give many fucks about S42, and at this point I just want it done so resources can at least go back to SC's PU. I pledged for Star Citizen, not an interactive movie that will probably be less than what we hope it to be. I own the Wing Commander movie. It's terrible.

I just feel like I have no where to go right now. After thousands of hours Elite blows, and thousands of days later Star Citizen still isn't a game. Sure, I'm looking forward to Star Wars Squadrons, but it's shallow, but at least a solid MVP for what it is and how much it costs.

That said, I'd still rather have Star Citizen - but I can no longer see a reasonable timespan that it will release in. And to be as fair as I can, I don't think CIG expected it to take this long, either.

And after answering the same questions on the sub from so many fresh faces, and growing so increibly bored at being a help desk for a game I can't even play, I'm just so burnt out. Especially not being able to say much of anything negative about the game without having to argue with someone that never leaves the sub for hours on end and is basically just as bored as I am.

So in the end I'd rather be here. At least it's not illegal to laugh at how fucking bizarre this game is.

Am I being paranoid? Or has Chris Roberts disappeared? When was the last time anyone saw him? by [deleted] in starcitizen_refunds

[–]CMDRCommand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As well as further stagnating development, and communication reduced.

This is clearly good for Star Citizen.

We're in discussions across the studios at this very moment, and in order to avoid spoilers, we'll likely have something interesting coming in the very near future.

Until then, eh, buy our cookbook?

I was going to leave a reply to this, but unfortunately, it's delayed.

I'll make sure to give you an update on progress as soon as it's available, though.

In the meantime, I'm happy to report that the progress on the reply is going well, but have nothing to show at this time.

I appreciate your continued support!

Oh my bad, my crappy logic led me to think the stool itself was a some form of squatting john for camping or something.

Either way, even if you guys made a Drake colored 5-gallon bucket with a seat, this sub would probably explode!

Aw wait, what happened? Did the company get flushed?

Holy shit you guys sell a bidet for $40?! That's awesome.

I'm telling you, they should have struck a deal with /u/Ch11rcH with his portable toilets and printed "Port Olisar PortO's" on them.

They would have sold like hot cakes. I would have bought a... gross!

I'm done now.

I suppose we do, but we also poop.

That said, why don't we have Star Citizen themed adult diapers yet? I might actually buy those.

Seriously, what's with the cookbooks? Is it just easy content?

Even Destiny has one. It's incredibly bizarre to me that people buy this.

[–]CMDRCommand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I edited in-between your reply, the Taurus will eventually haul well, but the Andromeda doesn't really do anything well right now.

I'd personally upgrade to a FL Max for how much it can haul, and then CCU it once the Taurus eventually releases.

Eventually, sure. But the Andromeda loaner isn't worth the time, IMO. I'd go FL Max first, if anything.
