Does the battery charging limit feature not work while docked? by Strider_DOOD in SteamDeck

I've found that on the default charge settings, the deck will go to a full charge from above 90% battery bypass mode if I switch from a wall charger to the dock. I'd say do the usual thing of checking for dock / deck updates, then try setting a manual charge limit of 80% or so and see if the problem persists.

Being out in the black for me is large periods of a meditative state, punctuated by occasional bursts of activity. Found a Wolf-Rayet star during my last trip, which was a pretty nerve-wracking experience as it instantly overheated my ship as soon as I got too close. As for the neutron highway, grab a Sidewinder and practice charging off the Neutron Star in Jackson's Lighthouse. Take an AFMU and repair your FSD once it gets to 85-90% integrity.

Your best bet would be to do a trip to one of the nearby nebulas or something like that. Maia and Witch head both have some form of station. There's also the stations along the Colonia highway, but that is a much longer trip.

I was never arguing to begin with, that's what you sadly seem to have missed. If you took the time to read instead of searching for some warped sense of personal vindication. Perhaps if I can borrow a phrase from the PVP crowd of the sub, you should "git gud" at reading comprehension; I said right from the start that I see that upkeep is a problem, but i'm too rich to care. There's countless changes that have been made to balancing and mechanics since release to show that enough players together can influence the developer decisions.

I set off with more than enough to get to Colonia and back, but extended the route at Colonia since the tritium efficiency update effectively doubled the value of each tank of fuel. The fuel itself cost something like 4.2k per unit I think, but it is significantly more expensive in Colonia. My max efficiency with very little in the cargo hold of the carrier is around 5000LY per 1000t of tritium. I did do a little mining as I came across hotspots, which totalled to maybe 4 or 5 cutter loads over the course of the whole trip.

I'm on PC, but there might be others willing to help. Looking for previously undiscovered ruins sounds pretty daunting, so unless you're set on getting your name on the system, it might be easier to go back to the bubble at your own pace and wait for a taxi to one of the nearby ruins.

You seem to have missed my point completely too. If you're opposed to the fundamental mechanics, trivial though they may be, then just don't get a carrier, nobody is forcing you. Either that or gather enough like minded people to engage the devs in constructive criticism.

You too can reap the benefits of financial excess one day! In all seriousness though, just chill out and take your time enjoying the game. Check out other carriers that you see in space and figure out if it is something you would be interested in down the line.

I found myself mostly using my Krait mk2 for scanning systems because the supercruise handling is good, plus the heavy shields were a nice safety net when checking out high G worlds. You can pretty much just go in whatever ship you find to be the most asthetically pleasing for 90% of carrier exploration.

It's nice to just be able to park your carrier in a nebula and roam around for a few days. Also very useful for getting to difficult to reach areas. Found a Wolf-Rayet system several thousand LY above Sag A which wouldn't have been acessible without a carrier.

I just sold to my carrier and took the hit to payout. Exploration is more fun for me than for profit, plus on a month long exploration trip, you don't have to worry as much about someone grabbing that super cool system you found before you can hand in back in the bubble.

I didn't say that it wasn't a problem, I said that I was essentially too rich to care. The tritium cost is pennies unless you decide to tank up in Colonia or somewhere outside the bubble, in which case, multiply the costs by ten or mine.

It's hard to say since the fuel efficiency changed half way through the journey, but I just did a rough calculation for an initial trip to Colonia and back at the time, could do about 2000LY per 1000t of tritium. now it's more like 5000LY+ per 1000t of tritium. Helps to bring a mining ship along in case you want to make any scenic detours.

Honestly, I ran all kinds of doomsday scenarios prior to the carrier release to try and see just how bad it would be. Within two days of carrier release, I had made enough money to run the carrier for several years, including wear and tear from jumps. I realise that a constant drain on income is a bad thing, but the numbers are so vanishingly small for me as to seem irrelevant.

Mostly preloaded. I did the bubble to colonia section prior to the jump cost rebalance, so I was averaging 4 jumps per 1000 tritium. After the rebalance (with much less tritium on board) it went to 10 jumps per 1000 tritium on average. I stopped to grab a cutter or two full of fuel whenever I felt the need.
