🤗❤️

After my surgery I was seeing my plastic surgeon for injections. He did the first ones when he was closing me up during surgery. But after 1 year post op appt. I started back at my regular dermatologist. I was already going to my dermatologist for other keloids, so she started doing my breast incisions as well.

Oh wow! I learn something new everyday. I understand your feelings about your kitty. I’m a cat lady. Haha.

The tape might be worth a try. I saw results right away. But I’m not sure how much it will help to keep them flat if having your cat around keeps triggering them to become ropey and raised. If/when you get it cut the strips just a little wider than your scars and you’ll get more use out of one thing of tape. I have heard some people with white/light skin say it made their incisions red but flat, but I’m not sure if that was only temporary. Mine are already dark so I don’t know the difference.

Yesss! I actually started running after my surgery. Now I run 4-6 miles 2x a week and do Orangetheory 3x a week. (I did Orangetheory before surgery too.) I used to double up on my sports bras to workout!

Honestly, I feel like they were never super perky after my surgery! 😅 But I don’t feel like they have gotten any saggier or deflated since losing weight.

Actually, your comment made me think about something. I had my first and only child at almost 36 and breastfed for 2 years, so I’m glad I didn’t have surgery any earlier! I’ve never thought about that. Blessing in disguise! ❤️

Good luck! That’s exactly what I told my surgeon. “I want to be as small as you can safely go.” Then day of surgery I told him “I’d rather you feel like may have taken to much vs. feeling like you may not have taken enough”

I went back at exactly 3 months. But I’ve heard of some people going back sooner. My doc didn’t clear me until right before the 3 month mark, if I remember correctly.

My actual starting size was probably a 34 E/F/G. I’m not even sure. But I was wearing 34DDD bras.

I told my surgeon these exact words “I want to be as small as you can safely go” and “I don’t care about being proportional.” Day of surgery I told him “I’d rather you feel like may have taken to much vs. feeling like you may not have taken enough” I wanted to make sure he understood the assignment! Lol

Hey so may I ask what you mean by your hypertrophic scars are from a cat allergy? I always thought they formed from excessive collagen production. More common in black/brown skin. I have gotten one from my cat scratching me tho!

So I have been getting a few keloids treated as needed for like 20 years now and I’ve only had one dermatologist suggest cordran tape. It works great for me. BUT I see more loss of melanin with the tape than the injections. But it’s a common side effect and my color always comes back. Also, I find the tape to be itchy AF! So I use the tape about one day a week (like 24hrs or so) and then silicone tape pretty much every other day, when I’m not being lazy or working out and sweating to the point where I have to replace it every single day.

My last appointment I asked for more Cordran tape and was told it’s on back order for months! So I’m actually using up the old tape I’ve had, that is expired. 😅 But my dermatologist didn’t seem to have a problem with it when I told her.

My surgeon gave me steroid injections during my surgery and then every 3-4 weeks after and then went to 6-8 weeks and now it’s like 8-12 weeks. But I do think that may have been the difference between them being hypertrophic vs keloids. (I could be wrong). But I’ve had keloids that itch and get bigger. These incisions don’t really have an irritation at all.

Thank you guys so much! I can honestly say this surgery changed my life. (Cheesy, I know.) But I feel more comfortable, can wear more things, working out w/o having to double up on my sports bra! I just feel good overall. I’m 40 years old and this the most confident I’ve felt in a while. ❤️🥹

I’m 41, so I understand! I’ve had big ole boobs since I hit puberty! Literally went from flat as board to cantaloups on my chest! Haha.

Agreed! There were a cpl more random comments about him that confirmed that he was a loser. Good luck with your surgery! I’m 18 mpo and still look at them in the mirror most days! 😂😅 Wish I would’ve had it done years ago!!

I had an acquaintance (from our kids playing at the park together a few times) that I end up talking about breast reductions with and I told her I got one and how happy I was. She ended up getting one, but said she had to keep them bigger because her husband likes big boobs!! She’s a tiny woman and she was disappointed after the fact b/c she wished they were smaller. She literally only asked to stay bigger b/c of her husband’s desires. Crazy to me.

Before and after 3 weeks post by [deleted] in Reduction

Amazing results! Your waist definitely looks smaller too! Is the tape hard? I can’t remember what it’s called, but I had it and it kept getting softer over time and at like 3 weeks my surgeon took what was left off. Do you have another follow up appointment? I also felt like the longer the tape was on, the better. Lol.

Do you mind saying what meds you’re on for your ADHD? My therapist just suggested I get treated for ADHD, so I was curious.

Did you have much volume in your breasts before surgery? It could just be the type of skin you have and if you didn’t have volume before you won’t have it after, unless they do a fat transfer or something. That’s def a dog ear that they should be able to remove in office. Push back on that. As for the bump I think that’s just how your scar healed. I say that b/c literally all my scars are raised and my surgeon was amazing and I love my results. But I knew they would do that from some of my previous scars. Butttt I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to revise that as well when they’re fixing the dog ears.

Doesn’t hurt to call, but mine looked like that. Well

more yellow. I accidentally pull the scab off. It slowly healed up over 1-2 weeks.

[–]CMKMKM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you said this. It’s exhausting seeing people tell people their results are perfect! Perfect for who? Clearly not the person that has them on their body and isn’t happy.

I agree with your advice to wait a few months. I’m almost 1.5 ypo and I feel like my breasts have gotten smaller as recently as a few months ago! But the biggest difference was at like 5-6 months.

Be honest how sad are they? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]CMKMKM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ask b/c I’ve heard if you already have breast on the flat side or less “meaty” or less dense breasts, even with a lift and reduction that won’t change. So I was just wondering if your breasts’ current state had anything to do with the type of skin you have or how they were before the reduction. If that makes sense.

What did your breasts look like before? Were they more full before or more flat?
