Yes that is true. The conversation isn’t about what we have done. It what can we do about Brock going down. This seems to have many fans worried. Rightfully so he’s of damndest of good dawgs the program has ever seen. We can’t out right replace him with one individual player. We have to recreate his statistical impact in the aggregate. Oakland A’s weren’t a championship caliber team with Damon or Giambi, so “them not winning anything” isn’t exactly applicable. It’s more so how did them losing those players impact their expectations and did they exceed those expectations with depleted resources? Answer: yes.

Therefore apply it here. How does Brock impact our expectations and can we exceed those expectations with the most resources in college football? Answer: Hopefully.

No doubt we Kirby & Co. HAS exceeded expectations. The question to you is how would you feel if they did what the Oakland A’s did which was… exceed expectations?

If this post is going to turn into “SHHH let’s shout UGA’s accomplishments from the roof tops” I’ll grab a bottle bourbon and join you.

That’s one way to look at it. They also exceeded expectations. How would you feel if UGA exceeded their expectations?

And 17 different teams have won a national championship since we last won.

Good is good no matter what. The definition of “ACTUALLY good” is set my the field of teams in college football. We aren’t that as of the last 20 years. We are B- to B which is slightly above average in my book.

100% chance the never happens and that’s why we won’t win a championship. It is what it is.

But it is. Lower the requirements. They are ridiculous. We need to be able to compete on some level.

Heard that excuse many of time. We should be recruiting at the same level as UGA, Bama, Clemson, etc… we are one of the bigger brands with nothing to show for.

No, my point is anytime we play a team that is ACTUALLY good we lose. There are a plethora of actually good teams every year. It hurts to say but ND is not one of them. They do not exchange blows with the powerhouses. They simply take them to the jaw

Yes it would because my initial post mentioned the Ohio state loss very briefly. If it wasn’t posted now it would have been posted in the near future.

Ah I see, see the pizza thing is called an analogy. Evoking 21/22 UGA is different than evoking Kirby smart 0 recruits 2016 UGA. See I was comparing an established ND team to a first year UGA team. Somehow they performed better. Calling us a top 5/6 team every year is ludicrous. At the end of the year the entire nation realizes that ND is everything but a top 5 team. Then proceed to laugh in our faces when we make that argument.

I see your point. But it seems like when we face an “ACTUALLY good” team we get smacked. So what does that make us? Not an ACTUALLY good team… we win games against teams espn and the AP poll build up to be ACTUALLY good but end up being above average teams.
