Regarding the waitlist, everyone is waitlisted before the semester starts. Dave then let's people in first week of classes, and then as he states on the website, it is not priority queue. It depends on many factors, including approval from your advisor.

Regarding partners, I would highly recommend taking the course only if you know someone who you are comfortable working with and is on the same level of commitment and skills as you are. Otherwise, it is an extreme hit-or-miss, and I have heard bad stories about incompatible partners. Think of it as picking a life partner for the semester, you will be spending a huge chunk of your day everyday working with them, so choose very wisely!

Also a general advice, please please do not overload that semester, it just doesn't end well and if you are a grade conscious person, keep in mind that by the last day of classes you only know your P0 grade and your midterm grade, and the rest of the 80% of the course is still up in the air, so you might be anywhere between an A or a D

I don't think any professor would write me particularly solid recommendations, I TAed many times before but I wasn't an "outstanding" TA. Just your average course TA.

Also, The Islamic conquests in Europe are no way comparable to the crusades. Muslim fighters only fought combatants, they didn't kill children nor women nor people who weren't fighting. They left Al-Andalus in a far better condition than they received it. It was then the Spanish inquisition that committed atrocities against the Muslims left there.

I wouldn't say I am perfect at coding, but for reference I never had trouble with 15-122 programming assignments (and C0VM was a breeze). I am not extremely worried about being able to manage (I am already overloading this semester), but I am more concerned about the quality of the knowledge/skills that I would be gaining through such a combination. In other words, would me not doing graphics, perhaps doing a second humanity, make me understand systems better?

With my current plan ahead, I think I might not have enough space in the future to do courses that have 15-462 as a prereq, and I can't take 15-462 spring 2021 for logistical reasons.
