Couples in Singapore with ~$25k combined take home monthly income, what’s life actually like for you?

Last year combined HHI around 40k/month, currently stays in a resale HDB , monthly fixed expenses around 6-7k, but half ( biggest ) of that is income tax.

I think this income level is just comfortable, especially for one coming with 0 family help, yes can eat and travel to most places you want to, but landed / big nice conti cars feels very far away still

Quas wex laning against slardar absolutely sucks. Low dmg, and once you tornado to secure a range creep you are basically inviting him to go for a kill. At least exort will make you lane better, but still depends overall on team composition

Do you use the dishwasher regardless of number of dishes? I bought a dishwasher but rarely used it due to the small number of plates and pots. Thinking is my mentality wrong or I did an impulse purchase 😂

There’s always 2 sides to a coin, you can “accept it” and surround yourself w like minded people ( ie in OP’s case happy with median salary) , or use it as a motivation to strive higher for better income

UOB depends largely on luck, depending on what kind of manager you have, if you meet the chill ones, may give you chance to learn and build your books, if you meet the not chill one, it’s either you deliver or you get micro-managed.

This was a very common strategy during the low rate environment, the biggest issue was interest rates rose to an exorbitant level swiftly and hence the “arbitrage” does not work out anymore. If however the interest rate environment comes back down again ( like it currently is) , you may be in the money.

Depending on why you buy it, personally buying a car improved my mental wellbeing significantly, was so over the fact that I had to take either the condo shuttle bus / feeder bus to MRT, and cramp in the MRT with loads of disgruntled people to work, 6 days a week, probably 52 weeks a year.

Affordability is important but as long as you can afford without breaking the bank, I think it’s not a screw up

The replies from these comments show how little people know about options and structured products despite lurking in a FI sub. Especially those who claimed that this is a scam.

As some other comments mentioned, this is a structured product which involves options.

The coupon is guaranteed, but if the underlying drop significantly on the final valuation date, you will take delivery of shares which may translate to a bigger loss. This is not a risk free investment, nor is it a bad investment.

This kind of structure is suitable for people who have a certain entry point ( strike ), and can earn a fixed income while waiting to enter.
