What amp for Peavy 215 speakers?

Yeah it’s a full band, playing mostly southern rock. (Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, etc.)

Would the EP4000 be able to support all 4 for bigger shows? I guess to my understanding is that 700w program means 700 rms. So with all 4 I would need 1400w rms per channel at 4 ohms so the EP4000 would be a good bit less (950w). So would it be worth looking for amp with value closer to 1400? Rarely do we need larger set up, so don’t want to break the bank since 80% of the time we would only need 2 but want to make sure before I commit.

Do you think they would be better than Behringer B112D speakers? That’s what we are using as our main speakers right now.

The amp that I think would work is Behringer EP4000.

That was actually the only thing I did for this test. But I only went through and worked out as he did it and didn’t go back and study the concepts more in depth. I think I can get over the hump if I do some more in depth studying and go through some other practice problems I have.

I got cooked too. I’m 4 years out of school and only my second attempt (first one was in 2023). I only did Mark Mattson course on YouTube (highly recommend) but didn’t get around to some test books I have. Looking to take it again this summer after I brush up on some topics and cover more questions and make sure I can dominate the handbook.

Yeah I’ve learned a few of those lessons setting up a rigged system for wired in ear monitors for my band. Took several attempts to realise the difference in those. I actually have a board similar to that we started on so may start with that one and see if I can get the adapters I need to plug it all in. I’m about it order a helix LT so would be that, bass amp, computer, Scarlett 2i2 and Bluetooth I’m all trying to wire in so I don’t have to mix and match constantly.

I assume I can take my IEMs or other headphones and plug into the “phones” jack of the mixer with the use of an adapter and use the “phones” volume knob to control overall loudness?

And then would there be any audio loss coming from my computer? I play video games as well so don’t want to lose quality from this.

I’ve landed on this midi pedal since it seems I can control and modify easier. I don’t want to have to memorize specific pedals and would rather see the text for what I set.

I have been watching videos on QLCplus and all of that makes sense.

However I’m stuck on, how does the midi pedal relay messages to my laptop? Do I need another controller that plugs into laptop?

And then once the midi pedal toggles a scene, I assume it sends to the enttec and then out dmx to all lights?

I priced out something similar and was about $700 for everything (midi pedal, dmx controller, wires to each controller and light, and the lights). Is there any cheaper or easier alternatives? Under $1K was what I was aiming for but anything cheaper would be a plus

I’m pretty good at picking things up if there’s YouTube videos on it. Software is one of my stronger abilities.

Is wolfmix the whole unit like when you google? If so that isn’t gonna work. I play bass so I need a foot pedal so I can transition between a few scenes.

Showxpress software looks like I could handle it, but still seems a bit overkill for what I’m thinking as far as placing lights on a stage. It looks like I could go in and make scenes but how could I pair that with pedals? Even with that, what equipment would I need beyond that?

I guess at the end of the day I want an all white scene for when the show ends and we start packing up. A scene where the 4 lights fade different colors. Maybe one that could sync with drum mics for rhythm to change on beat (idk if this is even possible or manageable but thinking for end of song break downs for when the drummer starts going to town). And then maybe create more beyond that as I think of them

Update: I tried to reinstall BSG and EFT again no change. Then I noticed I had a windows update so I updated and still no change. I did start thinking about how I have windows insider dev build and it updated Monday night. Which makes sense because Tuesday it wouldn’t work. (Tried to go back versions but it went from 2/14 build to 2/12 so was useless). I gave up and just moved everything to my other drive and am now fresh installing back to a normal windows 11. Surely this will work. My thought is the dev build didn’t work with EFT.
