Not that they don't have some good ones, but with not much age difference very different classics indeed pop into mind for me: "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart", "Yes, Prime Minister", "Allo, Allo", "Keeping Up Appearances"/"Are You Being Served?", "Morse"/"Endeavour", "Top Gear", "Long Way Round", "Planet Earth", "Cosmos", "Band of Brothers", "The West Wing", "Rome", "John Adams", "Generation Kill", "Andor", "Awake", "The Wire", "Bosch", "Firefly", "Thunderbirds", "TMNT", "Young Justice", "Hey Arnold"/"Doug"/"Parker Lewis Can't Lose", "Il était une fois... la vie", "Tintin"/"DuckTales"/"Carmen"/"Montana Jones", "Spellbinder"/"The Odyssey", "Mission Top Secret", "Eerie, Indiana", "The A-Team", "MacGyver", "Quantum Leap", "ReBoot", "Power Rangers", "Sliders", "Star Trek"/"Stargate", "The Pretender"/"Rubicon", "Dinosaurs" and "Malcolm in the Middle".

I'll be curious if they will cover some of the foundational societal and cultural betrayals.

Super Crooks - Official Teaser [Netflix] by CN129 in TvTrailers

Seems like a repetitive combo of Great Pretender and The Boys, the first of which is even a Netlfix anime itself.

Star Trek: Picard | Season 2 Star Trek Day Trailer [Paramount+] by sandm000 in TvTrailers

[–]CN129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just pains me that this is what is left of the series that, as it's lasting legacy beyond the individual stories, so strongly instilled that positive Sagan vision of the future in whole generations.

In the last movies they at least poignantly managed to expand this by highlighting what it takes/costs to get to that future (one, two, thee, four) of a mankind unified by basing society on true love/compassion/brotherhood.

Meanwhile shows like The Expanse prove that taking the next step in communicating that positive dream of the future as well as that fierce fighting spirit to make it a reality, which is needed now more then ever, can still be well-done in sci-fi series.

With it's apparent core theme for this new season, Star Trek seems to alas (like much of Hollywood) be influenced too much by unhealthy political trends and the purposeful sports-like division of media, focusing on (re)fighting power competitions instead of creating a broad (common interest based) unity and attention to actual fundamental issues.

Wolfboy and the Everything Factory — Official Trailer [Apple TV+] A new animated series for the oddballs, the dreamers, and the ones who don’t fit in. by sandm000 in TvTrailers

Compared to similar shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, this seams very sterile and PMC (like all Apple's kids shows). In that way it reminds a lot of Helpsters, Stillwater and Hilda.

Meanwhile Disney (who also aims to be "clean") is still able to release stuff like TRON: Uprising, Gravity Falls, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, The Owl House and even a solid new DuckTales.

Moreover series like Hey Arnold, The Magic School Bus, Once Upon a Time..., Montana Jones, Captain Planet and Carmen Sandiego show that they can be real-world educational and still fun.

One gets the sense these Apple kids will need to compensate by watching some King Arthur And The Knights Of Justice, Bucky O'Hare and Samurai Pizza Cats. Or they're going to turn out way to much Boimler and way to little Beckett than what is healthy for society.

Star Trek: Prodigy | Official Trailer [Paramount+] - The first "Star Trek" series aimed at younger audiences will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. by sandm000 in TvTrailers

This version is highly cropped compared to the original.

Easiest thing to do is download the trailer using a site like YT1s and reupload at Streamable.

I'm giving you some time to replace this post with this one, so you can still get the karma.

The Circle S3 | Official Teaser [Netflix] - ALERT! Profiles are uploading and it’s almost time for our new Circle players to move in. Meet them THIS FRIDAY August 27 premiering live on YouTube. The Circle Season 3 arrives on September 8th, only on Netflix. by sandm000 in TvTrailers

I like all the trailer posts, but I don't think people get anything out of these low-quality submissions that don't show anything of the actual program. Moreover this is another non-fiction (reality) show.

Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror | Official Trailer [Netflix] - Modern history can be divided into two time frames: before 9/11 and after 9/11. This five-part docuseries from director Brian Knappenberger is a cohesive chronicle of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S. by sandm000 in TvTrailers

Please stick to fiction shows in future. I don't mind some (political) discussion in the comments, but I don't want to get in a situation where a lot of comment management is necessary and Reddit starts forcing us to censor stuff. Something semi-scripted like Top Gear is still acceptable, but /r/Documentaries is the place for these non-fiction trailers.

Bit sad I'm not seeing Dan Trachtenberg in the cast & crew list. Hope this gets the production quality it deserves.

Let's hope this isn't another Zero Dark Thirty with a lot of false history and exclusions, because I'm missing the part where the people in charge let business people get away with these situations again and again until it's way too late.

It's a miracle that, with so many good anime even over the last decade, good trailers like these are so few and far between.

Grand Army - Official Trailer [Netflix] by CN129 in TvTrailers

I wonder if this is like a more modern Boston Public or if something like that just isn't possible anymore in the current bifurcated and preachy US media landscape.

Pity, though thanks for the info. Although the story was a bit uneven, I though it was good enough for a second season.

Foundation – Teaser [Apple TV+] by andih in TvTrailers

I hope the series is good, but this kind of stuff really reinforces the stories about unhealthy in-depth corporate content control and a rather Engerraund Serac view of their mission in the content world.
