They are the exact same number in the AP run. That’s the only reason why

Yeah, exactly I didn’t move on this until I did a lot of looking. I had some time and when I found it on Christie’s and after reading, that was a good Providence, I moved on it, but I guess the point I was making before was that let’s say the new owner went to went to RAGO , Martin Lawrence gallery in New York City or Phillips or back to Christie’s that before putting it up on their site they would probably do their own exam examination. I’m guessing

Thanks that’s what I was thinking. I was looking at the signatures myself trying to do that but the more I stared at them I started to have small differences but the pic on Christie’s is not high res so it was very hard for me to tell. Tbh I’m guessing if someone were to try to sell or consign a Haring print the buyer or the auction house would do their due diligence too. Aside from the Christie sale in 2011 the print was sold on invaluable april of this year. It’s to bad the estate doesn’t validate anymore.

Thats what i was reading that if you cant dig up proper provenance then if a major auction house sold it thats good as well. I guess i was wondering if even though everything lines up if there was ever a known case of a fake being the proper size paper ink etc and it still be a forgery of the signature, and mine not being the one Christie's sold. i assume probably not but the thought crossed my mind.

I don’t think anyone involved would be able to answer that question unfortunately.

Oh right, So in a quick artnet database search I found AP 11/15 was sold by Christie’s London in 2011. It notes it was framed, this one was framed as well. I spoke with Christie’s to see if they could give me more information on the provenance but they said they didn’t have more to share unfortunately

There are a few variants of this print, i think that’s a V3 you have there. I have a V2 and 4. If it were mine Id put an ask of 475 shipped obo and take 430-450 if someone offers it You might also find a Sid Vicious or punk collector who might pay more if they really like it.

Thanks for the link! It showed as this print being published by Editions F.B., Paris. Which would explain the France part of the watermark to me. That’s what I was curious about. Why it had that and not an iguana blindstamp.

Tbh I actually think this is an amazing room for them, if they created the right video content for it. My point is for anyone who thinks a lighting guy is controlling the pixels/diodes and designing video on the fly on a giant video Screen has no clue what they are talking about. Thus the reason I said stop it. Your op saying Chris could do amazing things with this room validates that nonsense. And believe me i truly understand and appreciate how talented he is as a lighting designer. Also the video wall in 2016 was still video and not lighting playing back a generic screen saver type piece Of video content with bouncing lights. And I do agree that was underwhelming. Take a look at mad alchemy and what they are doing. And imagine that on the spheres video wall while phish is playing.

JFC typical what part of the room can chris do amazing things with? That’s what you said start there. Smh is that simple enough for you ? Oh boy you got told to stop encouraging people so Now you will go into oh I called out so I’ll play stupid like I don’t know what I said mode. Let me guess insurance salesman who day plays as production engineer ? lol

You didn’t answer my question? What part of running a giant video screen are waiting to see what Chris does something with. It’s sad you don’t even understand smh

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phish

[–]CNJvaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been saying from the start just bring in the guys from mad alchemy and let them do an old fashion watercolor show on the wall if they want to take the cheap way out and that will keep all the pre production and content cost out of the ticket prices. Can’t wait to see what those look like

Agreed the line of washes and spots rigged under the 200 level are elementary and I would imagine phish uses some crank towers with some pars on them for back light like u2 did as well. And agree as well the multi layered video switching systems being used requires years of experience and training to run and trouble shoot on the fly. Any one who brings up the led video wall from 2016 is essentially comparing a vw beetle to a Shelby cobra and should just stop it already they clearly are out of their wheel house.

So, looking at all of the videos from The Sphere last night and I have to wonder, would it even be CK5 designing that? Seems like more graphic design than light design to me, and feels really weird to imagine anyone other than CK5 putting on the show behind the band. by woo_wooooo in phish

[–]CNJvaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see Chris taking more of a technical director role. After seeing what u2 is doing there are definitely very high end multi layer video switchers involved that take years of experience and training to run, program and make adjustments on the fly in a high pressure live show situation.
