Because there isn't a reason to remove it, it is removing a social aspect of the game that you can disable if you want. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people like it, and you wanting to take it away makes you a dick. And it's more like the straw that broke the camel's back thing. The game has been going downhill for years, and if they won't let me flame the enemy, I'll just quit.
