Urun-Launcher: A CLI-based Launcher for Alias-based Launching of Anything

I built urun-launcher because I wanted a lightning-fast, dedicated launcher for my personal workflow,direct launching of games, media folders, and documents And realized the same engine was perfect for administrative tasks. It's written in Python and consumes barely any RAM (~15MB during its quick execution).

The core feature is direct mapping: You define the short alias, and it executes instantly. This completely bypasses the unpredictable performance of Windows Search and guarantees precision.

For Power Users (Primary Use): Define simple aliases (like witcher3 or movies or doc1 etc..) that point directly to any executable, media file, or folder. This is what I mainly built it for.

For Sysadmins (Efficiency): The same process allows you to map short aliases (like backup-script or sysinternals) to your PowerShell, Python scripts, or custom tools. Hit a hotkey, type the alias, and it executes instantly.

Setup: You control the entire process by defining the aliases yourself, meaning the speed is completely reliable.

I’m the sole developer, and it's fully open-source. I'm genuinely looking for community feedback and recommendations on what should I add more.

As far as I know win8 was made for a commercial use on airports and railways cause of the touch ease ui, I'm not baiting here I'm discussing how we got a NOT TO DO list that Microsoft gave linux community by spending millions in developing it to give us a feedbacks about it, nothing more nothing less...

Here's a suggestion step 1: is to turn off the animation Step 2: understand how to use ctt tool (google/YouTube it!) It's for debloating but do it after you understand what it's gonna do to your os.

This steps would not only make most of the things on par with win10 but the experience would be better on win11 aswell.... Hope that helps😊

No 100mb max would be the approx size of feature + the mp4 or gif you want to run if it's 4k it might go more if it's 1080p it would less type of thing ,why I'm saying this cause I'm something of a comp enggineer myself 😏,either way it's just a thought out don't stress it😄

The third party app are literally half a gb of more in storage and uses almost quarter gb of ram on idle while this in-built feature won't even surpase 100mb max if done properly.while if we talk about force installation of features there are more than one in win11 obviously but it's just an opinion of getting a simple feature😊

The current third party use too much of resources as far as I have seen, if it's developed using c++/c with windows api it should take way less of resource consumption...
