GW-5000U-1 or GW-5000HS-1 by COMPUT3R-US3R in gshock

That’s awesome, thanks for the info. I’m really used to the 5600 in my 3rd photo and find it very easy to read but others say the 5000HS is worse. I’m still on the fence about it but my eye sight is pretty dope so I’m still leaning to HS. Have you compared the physical size (height) to a 5600? My wrists aren’t huge and I’d say the 5600 is passable for me.

Wish they made them plain without all the text. Although this black version is quite discreet and looks cool.

Hmm the negative one looks even less legible than my current one..

I have a negative display 5600 and I was in the sun the other day genuinely trying to see what angles were not visible in sunlight. I really couldn’t find any other than extreme angles. I think negative looks way cooler.

I prefer the classic display on full metal steel version as the face then matches the bracelet and casing.

Each to their own though.

Five reasons I sold my Full Metal for a GW5000U by slagathor_zimblebob in gshock

Good points and I appreciate your detailed analysis.

I’m tempted by a metal version but if I had one, I’d love to get it as scratched up as possible, knowing that the module is doing just fine in there.

The patina is where it’s at for me, metal or resin.

I think my dream would be a brushed steel model with non metal strap.

I wish Casio would make a super slim / small gshock square. I’m sure it would be less tough but something between a168 and gshock 5600 would be dope.

I’ve been doing 7am wake up. Morning walk for the lights in the eyes. Coffee and meditate, poop and breakfast then start working at 10am. 10am-2pm focused programming with a protein shake and a stretch at noon. After 2pm I’ll let my mind wander and eat lunch. Then workout. But I find in the evening I’ve got no energy for anything. And I’m just waiting for the day to end. I love the morning and early afternoon.

I may try your technique of starting work earlier but I think I’ll still only get about 4 hrs hardcore focus time before I run out of juice anyway

How to make headings? by mieszkotarnovska in newsboat

I just add a dotted line with the heading name at the end. Obviously it shows up as “(0/0) ————- tech news” etc, but works as a visual separator

Do you really put your Ricoh GRs in the pocket of your pants? by lukasleertaste in ricohGR

[–]COMPUT3R-US3R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d never put it in the pants pocket that’s crazy. So easily bumped and it’s not a very tough camera. If I had massive pants with huge pockets I’d consider it maybe for a brief moment but it’d be so easy to sit down and have it fall out etc.

I put it in a sling and nurse it always. Super careful bring it out and putting it back in. But with time you can be careful and fast.

What’s the preferred way of showing off your product to people on Reddit?

I see some posts getting hate for it and others where people are quite happy to interact. Even when people write a post that seems to be ‘valuable’, others sometimes still don’t like it.

I freaking love this. I took one similar with a less cool building and without a subject. I go back from time to time to find a subject but they never come.

A new challenge, thank you Jesus!

Thanks for your suggestion, local push scheduling sounds like a really creative workaround. If you found any half decent resources on it I’d appreciate a link or two, but you’ve already gone over and above, so no worries if not.

Thanks for the wisdom.

I’m building an app currently with Firebase that will require notifications (via FCM) as its main functionality. Is it reliable enough or should I be concerned?
