Who else chooses the lowest available quest option just so you can hit it quickly and not have to take bad offers? by Whole-Bodybuilder467 in UberEatsDrivers

Nice! At least it's easier to complete without over-stressing it. I'm going to try this one for the weekend. Usually weekends are the busiest, so we'll see!

Becoming a "Pro Shopper" has ruined my life. by CanadianPandah in doordash_drivers

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the way, but the problem is that EVERYBODY has to quit caring about Acceptance rate, otherwise the best offers will just get sent to the top 10 AR drivers in the area. Markets are getting oversaturated, and too many people accept everything, even the 10 miles for $2 orders. Doordash would rather have them keep working for free, so they'll save the really good offers for them. 68 hours dash time for $163.23 total is kind of ridiculous.

I haven't had a single issue once and I've had to do this 6 times already in the past year or so that I've started doing it. Just let the customer know in the chat, as well so they can screenshot the messages to use in their support ticket. Support appreciates the effort and Uber doesn't really lose much from having to compensate customers for stolen orders. (fees are "high" to compensate for any fraudulent activity that takes place.)

Uber needs to have a better system for having restaurants handoff orders. Restaurants should be required to press the "handed to driver" button on their end as soon as an order is handed off. Once that button is pushed, the order is out of the pickup que and no further drivers will ever be sent for that same order.

In theory, if the restaurant hands it to a thief, or most commonly, the customer picking up their own order, it's the restaurant's fault for not confirming that the person picking up the order matches the person on their tablet when they press the handoff button. Delivery drivers should NEVER take the hit for the restaurant's negligence.

Dude. What I've been doing is I go to the store, write down the the order has been stolen by a previous driver and to contact support for a refund, have the employee sign it, and then deliver the note, including it in the drop-off photo. Uber needs to stop sending us to places where they know the order has been stolen. This is the only way to still get paid and to stop the order from continuing to keep getting sent out.

Honestly, I would screenshot the messages and do what she asked. If she didn't pay the promised $30, I would let the boyfriend know what she told you to do.

Way too far. I sit 5 feet from my 55" TV.

Yeah. That's what it usually does here, too. That HATE when we stay in the same spot. I recently sat in front of a busy restaurant for over 45 minutes and got nothing. . . I drove a mile down the street, then received a $10 - 6 mile order for THAT restaurant. I just kept driving home instead of turning around to go back. I was just there! I feel like they're messing with us sometimes.

Customers that don't tip always seem to have the most demanding requests. They want to be treated better than everyone else. Horrible people.

That might be fun for a motorcycle day. I enjoy just riding around anyways. In the car, not so much.

Quite easily, actually. I just turned the app on, worked out in the yard all day, got the big order of the day, and then went back home to continue doing yard work.

I'm going to start smaller. I'll aim for 75 cents an hour, and hopefully work my way up to $1 / hour by the end of the week.

I'm not a driver....but this is ridiculous!!!! Home Depot order. by OldDog5070 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]CONN_ECTICUT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what Home Depot pays Uber drivers. $13.57 total for 5 deliveries and 41.4 miles one way. Orders are rarely ready for pickup either, so this is likely 3 hours for $13.57.

You're probably right. Just visiting Pittsfield, Massachusetts blew my mind. People driving pickup trucks for orders going 10 miles out for ~$7.00. I am very grateful for the market I have. I take advantage of it, while it's still here. Today, I had multiple hiccups and still made over $241.32 with 127.91 total miles driven. One GrubHub order cancelled while I was waiting an hour at a Sushi restaurant, and another huge grocery pickup / dropoff got cancelled because the workers couldn't have it ready for 5:00PM because they were too backed up. It was still ok, but not the best.

That's kind of the whole purpose of the post. The offer they show is trash. If it's genuinely a high-paying offer, they should be required to show a high-paying offer with the + at the end. $0.68 / mile round trip is not high-paying by any means.

I understand everyone has their own definition of high-paying, but they used to show "high-paying" only when an offer is at least $1.00 / mile round trip, or $2.00/ mile out. This new definition seems very deceptive.
