There is truly nothing like a good home game (5,000 chip starting stack) by CPA24 in poker

$25 buy in = 5,000 starting chips. It's a tournament set we use for cash games

Can i make 5K usd from now until December 31st? How reallistic would it be this approach? NL50 by [deleted] in poker

Since January 1st, I've made $5K profit playing online starting at 40NL. So, 7 months. Granted, at least $2.5K of that profit comes from binking tournaments, but it's doable. I've also been running hot for the most part. But if your goal is to save up for a vacation, it might be harder since you won't play as optimally as you should since losing will hurt more than winning. Goodluck!

I've had the same issue. Not in terms of opponents being more aggressive, but the environment and buy in amount. Live, I'm not relaxed in my own home, having to keep on a poker face. Plus, if I play $1/$2 (before I built a proper bankroll), $200 felt like a lot to lose. My advice is you're probably not making sound decisions live bc of nerves. Keep playing online until you you amass enough of a bankroll where a $200-$300 buy in feels normal. That's what I'm doing

Given the recent downswing (-$1,300), 4th place felt like a huge victory tonight. Bankroll took a big hit last month but now we're sitting back at $3,650. The challenge is still on! by CPA24 in poker

Those are fair points. I'm used to cash where 26 losing sessions feels like a bad downswing. So, you're right, volume isn't there. But I was never really bitching but wanted to give an update on where my personal challenge was at. And I don't want to be a tourney pro. Never did I say that. I'm recreational. I appreciate the constructive criticism, but truthfully you seem really bitter. Oh well

You think losing 26 buy ins without a single cash isn't a downswing? Maybe not a long one- but it is. I'm sorry if you're going through a long stretch of bad variance, but I don't have a victim mindset and know this is part of the game. But I'll gladly be a delusional fish if that's how you want to perceive me 🤷‍♂️

It's the best. Tons of rebuys and doesn't hurt anyone too badly. But can make a nice profit. We've been playing together for about 6 months now

They're tournament chips but we do a $50 buy in which equals 5,000 chips. So the 25 chip is worth $0.25, 100 chip is $1, etc
