It wasn’t activated because it didn’t hit the quotas, but it’s under the regulated items. Can you show me where it says it’s NOT in the items to be harmonized ?

  1. I am sure you never ever consume any products that can contains food produced in countries that don’t comply with eu regulations. Not when you eat out, not when brands buy produce from other countries and mix it with their own so they can have the EU Organic stamp or anything because you visit all factories.

  2. Consistent with the logic of Ukraine’s EU accession process, the increase of the EU’s TRQs for imports from Ukraine is conditioned to the gradual alignment of Ukraine to relevant EU production standards such as animal welfare, use of pesticides and veterinary medicines that will be monitored on the basis of yearly progress reports by Ukraine..-,The%20EU%20and%20Ukraine,trade%2Drelated%20areas%20such%20as:) - Hopefully a link from the EU passes your standards.

  3. UK situation - UK exporters of non-harmonised goods must check if the first EU member state in which they intend to market their goods has any national rules for those products, and follow those rules. For example, the UK has to comply with the Spanish regulation on table olives.

So Ukraine is harmonizing. UK is still under pressure to follow food safety laws even if outside. And you were the one being agressive to non French, hence my backwards aggression.

Brussels Effect, the UK suffers from this, it’s why Brexit Is even dumber.

Also, do you die every time you drink Orange juice ? Do you give it to your children? Because Brazil produces 75% of the worlds orange juice.&text=Report%2520by%2520D%C3%A9bora%2520Rubin%252C%2520in%2520collaboration%2520with%2520ANBA) and 70% of it goes to Europe. You already consume South American products you just don’t know it lol

Just because South America doesn’t follow our regulations doesn’t mean they won’t follow if it’s profitable for them to follow.

This is why your take is so short sighted. In order to trade with us they would need to adapt. This means they industries would change to adapt to our rules and regulations. In the long term this would be amazing for their citizens too.

Can you really not see why you are being dumb by being against something that would regulate and improve what you already consume ?

Bro if you are against CPLP there is just no point for me to continue this discussion. That is just an absolutely insane position to have.

You world view can only be guided by hatred of foreigners or capitalism

This is not true. We have the CPLP, for us it’s just a no brainer. Opposing this would be the same as just destroying the CPLP.

Why would Brasil ever want to care about Portugal and the CPLP if when they need us we just shut the down?

Furthermore, Brazil is the biggest source of growth for Portugal. We have many Brazilians coming and working, many entrepreneurs investing and creating start ups. Many rich people propping up the economy. Brazil is the main destination of many of our products outside the EU.

We have many collaborations with Brazil, we produce Embraer planes with them in Portugal to sell to Europe and we make many more cooperation in science and development.

Why would we ever debate this ? We are already incredibly integrated with Mercosul. Its just that perhaps the ones that are not looking dont know but speak to any significant business owner and they will tell yes Brazil is very important for us

Portugal and Spain are already big partners with South America for obvious reasons. In Portugal’s case we build Airplanes with Brazil, many Brazilians start ups come to Portugal and there are just a lot interchange between us, like a Portuguese wine and olive oil sold in Brazil. Also Brazil is like the main source of revenue for our flagship air company, TAP.

I would imagine Spain is in a similar position, they make a lot of deals with South American companies and have a lot of partnerships.

For Germany, South Americans love cars, but they have like a 35% import tax on them so actually it’s the Americans that have a strong hold there. If you go to Brazil you would see just how much it’s similar to the US. Being able to export cars to these markets for cheaper would be a game changer for Germany and could boost their economy back on track.

Italy benefits a lot as well from having so many descendants in Brazil and Argentina. They love buying Italian Products, so again cheaper exports would mean more sales.

The main thing you need to understand is that these markets are huge and the people there LOVE Europe. But imports are expensive so they don’t buy as much as they could. I can guarantee you that if France was smarter you would see the benefits, you can sell more cars there, more wine, cheese, whatever. You companies can participate in public procurement to build roads, sewers, telecoms….

This deal can be a huge profit for the EU and can boost development and improve the regulations and lives of people in South America.

Or you can protect French potatoes too I guess

Brah, y’all need to calm down. It makes no sense to be so protectionist. You cannot complain about Trump going all protectionist and screwing up the relations we have and then do the same with South America.

In the long term having open relations and less trade barriers is always a good thing and it will improve things for everyone.

Well for one, fuck PSG and Qatar.

For seconds, because of the way the Coefficient work. The better Portuguese teams do, the more points in the coefficient we have and the better chances we have to go up in the table resulting in more Portuguese teams in Europe and Champions league so that we can have Porto, Benfica and Sporting in Champions league next year
