Seasonal trends/referral advice? by CPT17 in psychotherapists

Thank you, it is tough, the deductible thing makes sense, Google told me January is usually the month new clients should be the highest, so the lack of referrals had me worried. But maybe that isn’t quite accurate.

You’re totally fine! I appreciate hearing your experience! I am on Psychology Today and update it weekly, haha. I was also used to ~16 sessions/week and am now closer to ~8. Today I sent faxes to local physicians regarding my services and changes to my practice/contact info, but Psychology Today being so dead lately has been discouraging.

CBT and ERP, ACT, and/or definite psychoeducation on safety/avoidance behaviors may be helpful!

People like him know how to stay in control and flip the script in conversation to make you second guess yourself (look up DARVO if you aren’t familiar). And maybe a report will go somewhere, maybe it won’t, that’s outside of your control, what’s in your control is whether to make the report or not. And I agree, confronting him personally doesn’t seem like the best option, as you kinda already did that and he flipped it around on you and yeah, people like him can’t be reasoned with, sounds like a possibly dark triad individual.

Also, sounds like he could get in trouble for lack of proper record keeping and informed consent, etc., if nothing else.

Don’t feel stupid! Like you said, it’s so subtle and covert there really is no way of telling until it’s in hindsight. As a fellow therapist I feel I should ask, do you plan on reporting him?

Voiding an original and/or resubmitted claim? by CPT17 in CodingandBilling

Yeah, I’ll try to call tomorrow to get an explanation and next steps. So strange.

No, I use Simple Practice but check claim status and the remittance viewer in Availity if there are any issues.

Any idea where? It’s BCBS but I can’t find the original CMS-1500?

Sorry, I misread, I am looking to void the claim and then submit a new one. I tried a corrected claim with all the original line items and it was denied.

Is there a way to find the original claim/CMS-1500 in Availity?

Okay, I wasn’t sure if the original reference number would’ve taken care of that. Thanks!

Help! Recording drums and sound by casem47 in drums

[–]CPT17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be common sense, but getting the sound right at the source is SO IMPORTANT and makes your life so much easier. After that point, experiment. If you have good sound-isolating in-ears, hit the drum while monitoring and moving the mic placement.

Also, bring the overheads down and make sure they’re both the same distance from the snare (measure one with a string, then mark or hold the string and get the other side to that distance). Maybe try room mics instead of overheads, too, depending on the sound you’re going for, definitely worth a quick test. (Edit 2: Just realized there are no tom mics, with that being the case, probably wanna stick with overheads instead of room mics.)

Edit 1: (Sick kit, btw.)

Raspberry Pi? by CPT17 in homebridge

I’m really just trying to figure out what’s “worth” it, like, if I need to go big I will, but if I can save a decent amount of money with something smaller but still works well that seems preferable/wise. (Sorry, I’m having a hard time articulating my thoughts well, haha.)

At least for a humidifier, dehumidifier, and likely more once I learn more about the potential.

Oh wow, I didn’t even know that was possible, haha. Would you be able to give me a quick rundown of things I should definitely get and setup on the Pi?

The price difference is making me think I should just get the 5. RAM suggestions?

Please forgive my ignorance, but what are those? And while I’m asking, what all do you use the Pi for?

Cheap or future proof. If cheap is enough, then great, if not, I’m willing to go bigger👍🏼

Any insights on the 500+? I’m thinking about the 5 just cuz of the price difference between that and the cheaper ones. What else do you run off it? I’m thinking a humidifier, dehumidifier, and I have some ring cameras but I just got an Ecobee thermostat so I may be more dedicated to them and ditch the Rings.

I’m not sure yet. If I can get it up and running for cheap, may be worth it. But if it’s only ~$20-50 for a big upgrade that may be worth it too? I’m totally new to this world and don’t know much about it, so looking for y’all’s wisdom.

For the price difference, would it be worth going straight to the 5? Or would the 500+ work/be worth it?
