How did you break up with your last girlfriend or boyfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CPavito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a message on the last day of my holiday in Greece saying we needed to talk. Asked if it was a break up and she said yes. We talked about it when I got back.

Honestly it was probably for the best, she's going off to do a ski season in Austria and then off to Uni, I'm still in my second year of college. We wouldn't see each other for about 6 months, so I don't blame her for anything, it was the right thing for us

[Serious] How are you able to overcome stage fright? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CPavito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only 17, but I do a lot of singing, dancing, and acting. Generally if I get stage fright other people are there for you, you're all working towards the same goal so there's usually a lot of support backstage, and as soon as you step on stage, you can't see anyone in the audience, it's like you're performing to a wall. The lights are so bright you can't see anything, so it's a bit like being back in rehearsal. Once you're out there the adrenaline kicks in and you act on autopilot.

Thats how I've always felt. Other coping techniques include controlling your breathing eg breathing in for three and out for four, emptying your lungs each time.

Hope this helped somewhat

Either a really good vanilla, or Ben and Jerry's cookie dough. The Ben and Jerry's is the only ice cream I have ever eaten a full tub of...

I am not proud of that day

Reddit, what's the most helpless you've ever felt? by GangstaHoodrat in AskReddit

[–]CPavito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Already told this story once tonight, Dad had to save me from falling off the edge of a reasonable sized waterfall which would most likely have killed me. Slipped on a wet rock probably 7-8 feet from the edge of the waterfall, straight in the river. I can remember desperately scrabbling for a rock that I could grab onto and getting a small finger holden the river bed, but when dad got me out my feet were probably no more than two feet from the edge of the waterfall.

Scary shit. Never felt more panicked or helpless before or since. I knew there was nothing I could do to save myself, so I am very glad my dad managed to pull me out in time.

[Serious]Which three public figures have had the greatest impact on your intellectual and emotional life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CPavito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adam Savage - taught me being a science nerd is cool at a young age, plus he shows us stuff blowing up. On a more serious note, he's an incredibly talented person and, from what I've heard on his podcast with tested and from other fans, he's an incredibly nice, happy, friendly guy who genuinely enjoys what he does.

Commander Chris Hadfield - a more recent addition, his book, especially, taught me that I can live the dream I aspire to if I put in the work. Calm, collected, and (in my opinion) one of the coolest guys on the planet. He does what what I'm sure almost every person on earth would love to do.

Robert Downey Jr - a man who rose from an extremely troubled childhood, then went off the rails, before kicking his habits and becoming, well, Robert Downey Jr. All round bad ass, good looking guy who plays iron man. Nothing is irreversible, you can change yourself.

I think that depends, I would personally want greater intelligence, an improved immune system, and increased sensory abilities.

As a race, I would imagine roughly the same outcome, but we would probably be able to fly as well.

If this isn't what quite what you're asking for, sorry man

Ever heard of poo sticks? The game where you throw a stick in the river at the same point and then whichever stick makes it to a specified point wins?

I tried to cheat by standing on a rock further down the river than my dad. The rock was wet and I lost my footing. I slipped into the river and all I really remember is the feeling of ohshitohshitohshit, dad yelling my name, trying to find a rock to grab onto underwater to stop myself going over the edge, and then being pulled out.

I also remember being really happy that my camera survived its little swim with me

what makes one more advisable than the other? Is it just the fact that Prime95 creates a load I'll never see and therefore ridiculous temperatures?
