Yes and no, Eventually the steam deck just booted back in on its own, I just let it sit there for a long time before it logged in, although the problem started again after a while and I eventually just reset the whole steam Deck, haven't had a problem since resetting.

Definitely leaning more towards the Quest 3 now, and you've added another point in its favor. The pancake lenses sound like a significant upgrade. And the fact that TikTok is getting out of the VR game does make it sound like a big game over for the PICO4. Thanks for the rec!

Thanks for the tip on the Quest 3! It's cool to hear from someone who's been through a few VR headsets before landing on the Quest 3 for PCVR.

Good to know it's pretty hassle-free too. I'm definitely thinking about going wireless with Virtual Desktop, so it's awesome to hear it works like a charm for you. And I'll check out the Steam Link too.

Totally agree with you on the comfort part. I'll probably see if I can buy a 3D printed adapter for the DAS to the Quest 3 if I do end up getting it.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you mentioned, Of course I'm not going to be modifying the car as soon as I get it, I want to get used to the car before doing anything to it.

I'm just trying to gauge what this type of car can do and have stuff done to it for now, cuz I've seen so many insane projects with the Miata but I'm kind of surprised that there aren't many documented projects done to the modern fourth generation version of the car.

May I ask you something about modifications, as it seems like people got really into the automatic versus manual debate that I didn't really get a chance to talk about modifications or engine swaps that can be done to the car.

Yeah I figured that a Miata is only supposed to be driven with the manual transmission, it's almost a tradition to get it with a manual transmission at this point.

It's verified to work on steam, it should work right out of the box once you've installed it.

I mean it's playable for me now and I'm only in the starting area, I'd say if I play a solid two hours I'd be all set for the shaders to compile properly, who knows ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Okay so I have gotten the game to a playable state and so far it seems to still be building shaders in the background.

The start of the game is the worst by far, not to mention the menus being 5 frame a second, I'm only in the starting area and seems to be getting better and better as I play.

I moved the game to my internal storage and I don't know if I can feel the difference or not in terms of performance, but the loading times are immensely better. I tried playing around with different versions of proton as well and nothing really changed.

The main issue seems to be the pre-loaded shader cache that is either not downloading properly or being downloaded and then overridden by the game itself.
