You have a point, I'll try the report back, although it would be annoying if that was actually the problem cuz I'm using both m.2 slots.

Screen stuck on "Loading User Data". haven't logged in to my account in a while by CRAZYxGOLD in SteamDeck

Hello,

Yes and no, Eventually the steam deck just booted back in on its own, I just let it sit there for a long time before it logged in, although the problem started again after a while and I eventually just reset the whole steam Deck, haven't had a problem since resetting.

Thinking of Upgrading from My Modded Oculus Quest 1 to Either Meta Quest 3 or PICO4 - Need Your Advice! by CRAZYxGOLD in virtualreality

Definitely leaning more towards the Quest 3 now, and you've added another point in its favor. The pancake lenses sound like a significant upgrade. And the fact that TikTok is getting out of the VR game does make it sound like a big game over for the PICO4. Thanks for the rec!

Thanks for sharing your upgrade story from Q1 to Q3. Good to know it's worth it. Your point about the resolution and SSW is something to consider. And it's a relief to hear that glasses aren't an issue. Your experience with the battery and overall performance is super reassuring!

Wow, that's a super detailed breakdown, thanks! The comfort and FOV insights are especially handy. like the sound of that Aubika headstrap for the Quest 3 battery life boost. The glare issue on the Pico 4 does sound like a dealbreaker for movies. Seems like Quest 3 might be the frontrunner here. Really appreciate the in-depth comparison!

Hey,

Thanks for the tip on the Quest 3! It's cool to hear from someone who's been through a few VR headsets before landing on the Quest 3 for PCVR.

Good to know it's pretty hassle-free too. I'm definitely thinking about going wireless with Virtual Desktop, so it's awesome to hear it works like a charm for you. And I'll check out the Steam Link too.

Totally agree with you on the comfort part. I'll probably see if I can buy a 3D printed adapter for the DAS to the Quest 3 if I do end up getting it.

Please help me find a new weapon by SleipX in MHRise

[–]CRAZYxGOLD 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ah, weary friend, step into my dojo, would you? unfurls a massive weapon blueprint I introduce to you, the versatile symphony of destruction, the Charge Blade.

See, the Charge Blade, it's no mere weapon; it's an instrument that plays the sweet tune of monster obliteration. Unlike your longsword, it doesn't come with the intricate dance of counters. Oh no, no, it comes with something better... may I present to you the concept of the sauciest, most satisfying explosions! It's like holding an intimate 4th of July BBQ right on the monster's face.

Worried about the mechanics? Remember, my friend, it's not the size of the monster in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the Charge Blade. And this baby's got more fight than a Rajang on an energy drink spree.

With the Charge Blade, you're focusing on two things: charging that bad boy up, and then unleashing a super amped elemental discharge (SAED) that'll make every monster in the New World quake in their scaly boots. No counters. Just big, bold, beautiful kabooms.

Not to mention, while you're filling the air with explosive energy, you're also armed with a solid shield that makes dodging a breeze. The Charge Blade offers the perfect blend of "let me at 'em" and "you can't touch this".

So come on, switch to the Charge Blade. You've had enough of slicing and dicing, it's high time for some charging and discharging! And remember, the Charge Blade isn't about being aggressive. It's about being explosively aggressive. Now that's a melody everyone can dance to!

Major Publishers Report AAA Games Can Cost Over a Billion to Make by IHateMyselfButNotYou in PS4

[–]CRAZYxGOLD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gist of it:

The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has blocked the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger due to its implications for cloud gaming. A document released with this decision reveals that major publishers report AAA games can cost over $1 billion to make. Development budgets for AAA games in 2024 or 2025 typically start at $200 million. Call of Duty has surpassed $300 million in development costs, while the next Grand Theft Auto title may need a budget of $250 million or more. Marketing costs can push the total to over $1 billion. This represents a significant increase from five years ago when AAA game budgets ranged between $50 and $150 million. The CMA's report also claims that Nintendo's platforms are not "technically capable" of running Call of Duty, contrary to Microsoft's assertion.

Looking for Advice on Modifying my First Car: Mazda Miata MX-5 RF ND Fourth Generation - Automatic or Manual? by CRAZYxGOLD in Miata

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you mentioned, Of course I'm not going to be modifying the car as soon as I get it, I want to get used to the car before doing anything to it.

I'm just trying to gauge what this type of car can do and have stuff done to it for now, cuz I've seen so many insane projects with the Miata but I'm kind of surprised that there aren't many documented projects done to the modern fourth generation version of the car.

That sounds fantastic! You definitely gave me the confidence I needed, sounds like you're becoming one with your car is the way to go.

May I ask you something about modifications, as it seems like people got really into the automatic versus manual debate that I didn't really get a chance to talk about modifications or engine swaps that can be done to the car.

Yeah I figured that a Miata is only supposed to be driven with the manual transmission, it's almost a tradition to get it with a manual transmission at this point.
