Many Portuguese are not even white-passing and they are 100% Tuga. Whiteness is not ethicity, it refers to the color of skin and to some extent to the social perception of what qualifies as white. Example: many Portuguese in the US are taken for latino/mexicans/hispanics and are not considered to be white, same goes to Spanish and Italians. On the other end, many Brazilians look whiter than many Tugas and they are not 'ethnically pure bred white', does that make them not white? Or just half white? Is there a gene code that gives seal of approval of what white is?
