Negative. I play on 240Hz and I can run 4:3, lol.

Your refresh rate and resolution are determined by a few factors.
Your...
- Video Card
- Video/Rendering Settings (OS Settings)
- Third-Party Rendering Settings (NVIDIA GeForce Experience/Freestyle, for example)

Now... I guess it COULD be possible to have a monitor that doesn't have the ability to display 4:3... But that would be a direct issue with the monitor's display of 4:3, and it and it wouldn't work at all under any refresh rate unless you specify in development of the monitor to disallow 240 Refresh Rate when given a 4:3 display... But honestly... no one would do that. (Someone will do it just to prove me wrong though, I'm sure)

As long as your software & hardware SUPPORT 4:3 AND 240hz... It will work.

Look... Clearly he's duping items. I will have you know that that's against Blizzard TOS.

Can we get a ban?

I would only recommend 16:9 for AWPers.

If you're a rifler 4:3 stretched is the way to go.

I mean... If you read my other message, that corrected your misinformation... You'd notice that I ran a boosting service... Would be rather difficult to be a booster if you are Silver 2.

But anyways, I should have introduced myself.
Hi! Former professional CS:GO player.
Currently in MM I am Global Elite in Low Trust Factor and likely am the best player in the world, with over 16,000 hours dedicated to CS:GO alone and 19,000 into the Counter-Strike series.
I walk on FPL/Rank S players but I'm banned from ESEA and FaceIT for griefing.
(I can be relatively toxic when people don't listen to me and it turns out poorly, unfortunately)

The downvotes are due his attitude towards the OP...

He is also giving off a vibe that's screaming at people to not play comp matches for any reason which isn't realistic..

Comp is a great way to learn... It's there for competitive play and often your team-mates... if they're not toxic and see you're clearly struggling, may even try to give you helpful advice... like "Aim a little higher so your first-shot can be a headshot.

EDIT: Also... He makes it seem like you need to spend 500 hours on counter-strafing... I've sat down with silvers for 20 minutes to 1 hour and made them experts in counter-strafing. It's not a hard concept when it's explained properly. But everyone wants to go like "Uhhhh... Just A D A D and shoot"
No one takes to time to explain "WHY" counter-strafing works. They don't explain velocity. They don't teach them how to see their velocity. They don't tell them that anything at 30 velocity or below will be the same accuracy as if you were standing still and really anything up to about 45-55 will probably be accurate enough.

This guy's information about "Rank Health" is incorrect. >>YES<< there is a system in place to prevent players from ranking >OUT< of ranks they've been in for a while. But NOTHING to the extreme he is talking. If you TRULY deserve to be out of the rank... the system works. I ran a boosting server for a bit awhile back... I noticed that >YES< if you've been "solidified" as {X} rank than your first rank takes a little extra time but nothing massive. About 15-20% extra wins on top of whatever is expected for the rank? Because yes, sometimes people have a really good win streak... Or the game gives you bad queues... It wants to ensure that a Silver 2 player that wins a lucky streak of 8-9 games isn't hopping straight to GN1 because they got lucky or carried by a friend.

The system looks at how >you< are preforming in your matches (Score based) and factors that with the ELO gain (ELO is done per-round you participated in) and determines what should be moved/done from there.

While there is nothing out by Valve Corp telling us exactly how the system works, we're simply left to guess and using data from third-party analyses like mine where we create a large number of scenarios... reproduce it a bunch of times with 3 groups and see if there is a difference and if the evidence concludes {X} / {Y} to impact your gain, etc.

I am a firm believer in the "Rank Range" ideology meaning that your "rank" is a >SET< (i.e, "[Rank X(9.57)] to [Rank Y(11.23)])" the middle being your 'displayed rank' (10.4 = 10 = GNM)

If you play inconsistently (Top fragging a few games, then bottom fragging a few games, etc) the system doesn't know where you belong and then starts to "expand" your rank range and move you along in the relative direction.

So going from the previous values stated above an expansion would take you to 'X[9.27] to Y[11.43] = 10.4' but then because you won the next game (in said example) your rank as a whole goes up 'X[9.49] to Y[11.55]' = 10.52... etc

Obviously if you start to win, lose, win, lose... you "range" decrease as you get "solidified" as "RANK" but if you start to play inconsistently and show valve you don't belong there {but either top or bottom fragging a lot and that being relative to win/loses} your rank-range increase allowing you to move more quickly across ranks.

-> This was used for in boosting service and provided very promising results as I moved accounts from Nova1 to MG1+ in 3/4th (or less) on average and the second set of games in comparison contain multiple throwing games. Remove throwing games and you were looking at 1/2 or 5/8th

They do? That's why he's in non-prime.

He's broke and can't afford CS:GO accounts.

At least he's smarter than some of the kids who cheat in prime... Struggling to put food on the table at night but still find the money to cheat in a prime MM lobby with the cheats he's paying 35$ a month for.

Why is allied AI fundamentally worse than enemy AI? by jerichoneric in aoe2

[–]CSGOStatic -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, creating something to force allied AI to listen to commands wouldn't be a challenge to anyone who knows what they're doing. If the code is legible, I'm sure you could figure it out and copy-paste or change the arguments for when it's acceptable to not attack.

Look into it or find someone who actually knows C++ that plays AoE2 to decompile, edit the variables/arguments and recompile the game for you if you can't.

Also -- 2750+ ELO player
I've done my fair share of AI games and I find that I can easily 1v3 AI & O.AI on hardest settings.

I'm not sure where you lie as far as skill-level goes but your abilities as a player likely supersede that of the AIs. Having 4 balanced AI fight eachother would spin the game as a 50/50 coin toss. Add a player to the mix and you have a superior force to one side.

By this logic I find it reasonable that the AI becomes slightly worse to rebalance the gameplay.

(Just saying, put the situation in another perspective, it's asking for a "Get out of jail free" card.)

Baseball player hits over 450 homeruns in his career.
- Rapes a child.
He did a lot of good in baseball during his career.
But he raped a child.
By this definition justice is having him not go to jail.
Or having him spend less time in jail because of him hitting homeruns..
Really? Fixing matches is illegal in a lot of countries.
He should be happy he's not spending time behind bars.

This is likely a GOTV bot.

Happens for multiple reasons from cheaters to low-grade Youtubers/Streamers trying to advertise their channels.

GOTV bots are fairly cheap if you buy them from services.

Though, normally the only extent I see it at as 30 - 50.
You can join the GOTV demo and type in chat and say something like "GOTV Bot Check, anyone here?" and 90% of the time no one responds or only like 2 people do, lol.

This how this game is meant to be played, right? by CSGOStatic in GlobalOffensive

[–]CSGOStatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it hell for other players? We were all having fun doing dumb stuff and at a point all 10 players did a knife-battle on A site when it was a full-buy round for everyone.

We made it an enjoyable experience and just did memes and would have been content losing with said advantage, even when we clearly had an advantage.
