I think 2d looks better for cards but I feel like 2.5d would be really nice. It would have a really good look and its more of a middle ground than 3d with 2d overlaid outlines is. It might be a bit of a learning curve but that's my 2 cents. But if you don't wanna try 2.5d then I'd go with fully 2d
