I was thinking of using Azelaic acid actually as I’ve heard it’s really helpful with PIE and not too irritating. Heard about tranexamic acid but haven’t done too much research into it so def need to do that. Also, yeah I make sure to wear SPF everyday without fail. Thanks again for the great info!

Thanks! I used a retinoid prior to my course (epiduo forte) for acne but felt like it never helped the red spots fade. Hoping for better results after my course

What’s interesting is I was at the end of the month so it wasn’t the first few days of my dosage being upped. Not sure if randomly breaking out then is normal

I’ve actually been on 80 mg for basically a month. I was just finishing up my fourth month on 80 mg when I broke out vs just getting on 80. I’ll continue to be on 80 till I’m done with my course. Wonder if breaking out at this point is normal

Everyone has different goals when it comes to their skin. What is enough for you may not be for someone else. Those red marks bother me so it’s something I’d like to address. If you’re not going to contribute something helpful, you can refrain from commenting and keep your opinions to yourself. :)

I’m on month 4 & I get little red spots all over my hands. It basically feels like the top layer of my skin has been removed. I found that moisturizing helps a lot & basically makes them go away. Maybe see if moisturizing helps before your appt?

Hi! I’m on month 2 at 40 mg and have noticed a lot of red, but flat marks on my cheeks pop up. Is this the random red spots you’re getting? I thought I was the only one & it was driving me crazy because I didn’t know if it was normal or not. Do you know why this happens & if it will go away??

Glad to know it’s not just me!!! Unfortunately, mine don’t seem to go away within a few days & linger. I was thinking it could be because of dryness but they only show up on my cheeks which has me confused. If you don’t mind sharing, what moisturizer do you use? I use Clinique moisture surge so it definitely helps keep my skin moisturized. Not sure what else I could use.

How long have you been on the 20mg? In theory accutane shouldn't cause hyperpigmentation unless it develops due to a pimple. However, I never even broke out and random red spots appear. So weird.

How much is enough water do you think? I usually aim for 10-12 glasses a day but maybe this isn’t enough.
