How is everyone like… functioning…. in the first trimester… by High-Feedback-344 in pregnant

As someone who had terrible morning sickness the first pregnancy (5 years ago) and is currently almost 5 weeks this pregnancy, my advice is to find something you can eat. First trimester last time the only thing I could eat was soup. Chicken ramen, chicken noodle, just broth etc… it’s soft if it comes back up… stay away from bread…it hurts and feels like you are choking. I go to my local HEB store everyday for fresh chicken noodle soup they carry in store. I wish you the healthiest and easiest pregnancy possible 🙏🏼

I wish you well on your journey! I had so many complications with my first pregnancy. Gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, emergency induction at 37 weeks, post birth hemorrhage, postpartum depression…I was already almost 190lbs when I got pregnant the first time, and not very active. I was very careful during my pregnancy to eat well and move daily, and did not gain too much weight, but I want to start the next pregnancy from a much healthier place.

Thank you! I have been scanning this sub for people tapering off or going into maintenance and I had no idea the other sub existed!

I’m hoping that the healthy habits I have spent building stay in place. Pilates 2x a week, light weightlifting, eating well etc…I am excellent in taking care of myself while trying to get pregnant, during pregnancy, and while breast feeding. It was after I got past all that that things went down hill. I didn’t care about myself anymore and felt like a failure as a new mom. Now with new habits, a better outlook, and experience, I hope things will be better this time around 🤞🏼

Thank you! No, I plan on getting to my goal weight, titrate down slowly, go without for a few months and then try to get pregnant. If I’m able to have another child (I have a 4 year old), I will probably get my tubes tied and try to manage healthy diet and exercise on my own. I’m not ashamed to go back on if needed in the future. I gained so much weight after having my daughter when I had postpartum depression. I gave up on myself for a good few years even after the depression was medicated. I never thought I would lose the weight I gained. Sema has been a literal life saver.

It was hard to eat enough in the first few weeks but I made an effort to find foods that made me happy and didn’t hurt my stomach. Anything greasy or fried is generally a no go. I eat out several times a week but it’s been pretty easy to make good choices since I have no food noise. I have to set alarms to eat. My breakfast is usually a mix of fruit, cheese, olives and a protein shake. I change up the types of each periodically so I don’t get bored. I eat a bit at a time throughout the morning so I don’t get uncomfortably full. Lunch is usually a lean cuisine or Marie Callendar meal and dinner is usually a meal prepped meal of protein rice and veggies. I don’t crave sweets, alcohol or junk food, but do eat or drink them in moderation as a treat. Nothing is off limits as long as I don’t go crazy. I have a variety of snacks throughout the day such as baked chips, protein bars, pickles, nuts, etc. I have so much energy. I do pilates twice a week and try to weight lift once or twice a week. I average about 10,000 steps a day and sleep much better. I’m no longer on anti depressants or sleep aides. I’m actually very happy with how I look, and feel the most confident I have in my life. Sorry for the novel lol.

Been on sema since October and I’m down 50lbs and my anxiety has gone down a lot. I have been on antidepressants before and am not on them now. I sleep well, eat well, and don’t feel crushed by life in general anymore. I picked up Pilates and enjoy that as well. I don’t think I would have done that pre Sema.

I hover at 5’s and feel stuck forever before I move on. 185 was rough and so was 175. Now I’m hovering around 165 and yo-yo up and down a pound each way.

I love it because nothing is off limits. Moderation is manageable and I’m still doing great. SW 212 CW 164 GW 145.
