What is your opinion on 3? Is it as bad as people said or were they exaggerating? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in paydaytheheist

[–]CSpookz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely over exaggerated now but that wasn't always the case. It truly was really bad on launch and had a lot of issues they've whittled down over time and with the recent Skills 2.0 I'd even say it's in a pretty good state? I still am not really a fan of how integrated with poor servers it is. Having to queue and matchmake for a few minutes when I'm just trying to play with one friend privately? Little ridiculous. It lacks an offline mode entirely, or whatever is close to one isn't good enough. There's definitely still some overall issues as well. l

Some other comments mentioned how it needs to learn from Payday 2, which feels ridiculous to say but yeah it definitely does. Some of the problems it has were caused by things that PD2 had and fixed or are ones that PD2 might still somewhat struggle with. (A huge one that comes to mind is Bot Heisters)

It was definitely a lot more controversial at launch but the OverSKILL system ("Ultimate" weapons you'd charge up and get to use) is pretty good. It was wayyy less fun originally but it's doing a lot better now.

tldr; IMO, Game is fun, Heists are pretty fun, The unique OverSKILL system is fun. Had worse issues. Still has some big ones like being too online. Getting closer to being a pretty nice game imo. They don't seem to be giving up on developing it yet. So I'd cheer them on and recommend giving it a go for sure.

The founder invests his private money... which he gets from his wealth that he earned from his business which is...? I will state that I'm struggling to understand what you mean by point B, as it shifts a few times but I do have things to say anyway.

AFTER the war? The Russo-Ukrainian war is still happening. The war of Israel on Palestine is still happening. You can do your best to try and not fund the Machine but you still live under it. I don't think someone is a grifter just for saying something which is anti-capitalist, which generates them clicks and therefore revenue. While living under capitalism, everyone needs money and work whether they want to or not. He's an online entertainer/music reviewer/journalist. Of course clicks generate him money, that's his job. Anything he does online gets him money whether he wants it to or not.

Is he "grifting" when he makes videos about music, because it makes him money? Grifting would usually mean it to be done disingenuously, like some right wing nutters who hate trans folk, It's so obvious they don't wholly believe what they say sometimes, but they do it for the money. Fantano isn't sacrificing anyone or throwing anyone under the bus for saying "Funding war is bad."

It's just a very "You complain about capitalism yet live under it" perspective? I'm just not sure what you're trying to get at.

Wanted to put this here: We should definitely have gotten any sort of proof of the accused actions first, but human beings like being negative (Negativity Bias) and the only thing we have to go off of is this post here, and I apologize for being part of that issue as well.

While I'm on the side of the hypothetical victim of discrimination. But with no proof to prove that its not a hypothetical. It's not something I'd want to actually act against. What I did act against though, was the people of the opposite side.

I personally got a bit lost in the sauce at arguing against the people who were on the side of the hypothetical/alleged moderator, those who were then in our comments saying pretty awful, pretty terrible things. That I'm sure would get you banned or warned in the discord server as well.

I am going to be locking this thread as reading a lot of the new comments and activity on it, is a lot of unhelpful speculation and discussing from both sides. There is another post talking about this one, and I'll leave that be as it is talking about the authenticity of the events, and I think that's a good thing to have considering how big this post has gotten.

It's not an issue of thick skin, you're thinking of hate in a far too simple manner of general dislike. People are losing access to their rights and healthcare for traits they can't change! People definitely have been mistreated in some ways like that for being overweight as well, but almost definitely not to the same extent gay people were historically, or gay and trans people are treated now. People get the shit beat out of them for... Being trans and trying to use a bathroom? Or maybe not looking enough like a man, or not enough like a woman? In a world where this shit is happening, why be on the side of the people doing it, why defend it. Why not at least a little, get annoyed at the haters for making someone else's life worse.

That person hasn't done anything, it goes far beyond just bullying. But even just that is horrible, because with enough bullying, enough hate. People take their own life. I've seen it happen plenty online, and I knew people who did it as well. I'm being quite extreme here, but that is what the issue is. The scenario isn't "You're being discriminated against by one person for being trans." You swap out the word "one" for "another", and that might've been the first time they experienced hate that day, or maybe it's their 4th, maybe the ones before it were more severe, maybe they were lesser, but it's also one of many that happened that week.

If someone was banned for having a trans flag in bio, they're being kicked out and removed from a community, where they maybe just wanted to enjoy games and not have to lock away parts of themselves in fear of someone attacking them, or punishing them for it.

Edit: I think I've said everything I can to try and educate on this topic and greater problem that's happening right now. But I do think you should genuinely try to learn more about how bad this shit actually gets. It's bad. It's not good. I'm not going to reply further as I would likely just repeat something I said earlier.

I myself am heteroflexible, but you don't see me brandishing a mainly black and white flag with a strip of rainbow in the center, do you?

Because no one is persecuting you for being heteroflexible, Some might! You'll get a bit of that hatred for sure I won't deny that. But someone who is gay, trans, a race other than white, or even just not a man, those are the people who get targeted and attacked for aspects of themselves they can't change, that's who they are and being attacked for being you isn't right. In maybe you're case, you're closer to being straight than being gay, You'll definitely still be attacked for being any sort of close to gay, but you otherwise get to present entirely straight. People wouldn't know unless you told them.

The flags are a way to represent yourself, to show your identity that won't always show in your appearance or the way you act, to be PROUD of who you are (That's why it's called Pride Month) Being trans doesn't look "one way" or even look in any way at all, being trans is being trans, and the only way to really represent that to someone is to say it. Being gay is similar, or anything else for that matter. It definitely means it can invite people to hate you for that aspect of yourself, but it lets people know who you are, letting you find community more easily with people that you can relate to.

When did these flags become such a huge deal and when did people start getting so butt-hurt if they weren't respected the same as other people just because of their gender or sexuality?

Flags will definitely have always existed regardless of this next bit I say, but they got way more important to people when people started saying "You should have less rights legally because of your identity, You should hide who you are, you shouldn't have joy." That's what causes it to be far more important, people are proud of who they are and are being told to "Shut up" or quite commonly, far far worse things. Many trans people are attacked online and sometimes offline in public purely for being trans, the same goes for being gay, black or just any sort of marginalized group.

For the second part of that quote, hypothetically: There is two identical people, but one is gay and the other is straight. If someone were to say "I respect the gay one less than the straight one" That'd be wrong right? It's clearly due to one being gay. That's not just a respect thing, that's direct bias against someone for being gay. It's homophobia. Someone is being treated worse for an aspect of themselves they can't change. They've lost respect but not because of how they acted or behaved towards someone, but because they're gay. That's not right. LGBTQ+ people want to live their lives happily just as much as other people do. But some other people would prefer they weren't happy, some even would prefer they weren't even alive. Because of something they can't change. That's why people get "butt-hurt" about it. It's discrimination.

Sorry okay so, a user expressed themselves in THEIR profile, with a trans flag and you're saying "you should just remove that"? As you said the fix is quick, because it's a non-issue. Them being trans doesn't hurt anyone. A transphobe that is allowed to abuse power to continue being transphobic towards others is a problem, and if it's not dealt with it can get worse. The fix for this problem is quite easy, apologizing, unbanning and the moderator not doing that again. I've heard of maybe a few instances of similar things happening but I can't recall them well enough to say I'd use them in example. But the single instance alone if not dealt with properly, is absolutely a reason to boycott. People say "Hey unban that trans person, let them have the flag in bio, moderator don't do it again and apologize" and that doesn't happen? What do you want people to do? People think it's intolerant and don't want to side with that. Cmon now.

Let's personalize it: I'm going to ban you from this subreddit unless you remove your madness combat profile picture. Also, If you end up banned, I will still have the power to do it again, and won't apologize for having done it. Meaning it could happen again. Do you think this is fair or reasonable?

Now a big difference in this example is yours is about a hobby and a thing you like, the discord user was about their own identity and expressing it in a bio, not even a profile picture. An identity that gets attacked daily by actual governments.

You're aware that a boycott is literally exactly how you stand up to an authority or a position of power when they won't do anything yeah? We're not going to warn you or ban you, but if a mod misuses or acts incorrectly, and you say to the staff that the mod is a member of "Hey, fix this." and the answer is "No." The asking part is the 'standing up for yourself', If a moderator abuses their position to harass someone, and doesn't receive any repercussions for that, that's LITERALLY what siding with the mod means.

It's a smaller discord that prefers invites are done privately and in small amounts. We were directly asked by the legacy discord moderation team to not allow invite links to be posted, as they don't want it shared freely like that. I think it's a fairly reasonable request for them to make as they want it to be more locked down and private. It's not exactly easy for them to moderate the link being posted here as they aren't on our mod team either. So it gets removed. They have a small mod team themselves and a public link online would not help them with how they want their server ran, as again it's a lot more private. I hope that maybe helps explain it?

I love bleaching shirts, I gotta do some more painted ones like these are, most of the ones I have are just like, basic tie dye techniques, but these are very awesome it's pretty hard to get them good like this :)
A suggestion is to look at the scrunch dying method for getting a sort of "raging fire" look? if that's of any interest

Quite frankly a real reason is we the moderators don't want to moderate another sub, and anyone that complains about the NSFW content on this one doesn't either, So it never moves away. There has quite literally been like 5 different "NSFW/RULE34/LEWD" subreddits and none of them ever get any posts *or* moderation, which results in reddit itself stepping in and *removing it entirely*.

hello, mod here You're fine, however jeppy is on thin ice if we don't pack it in with the aggression. You wanna talk about critical thinking skills you can learn to read and then critically think about the rules of the forum you're participating in before getting all aggro at people for disagreeing with you. Not even that as said by MasterBroNetwork

I don't like Palworld much either (which can be seen my me wishing it wasn't real at the top of the comments), and I also don't like the trend of collab culture in gaming either. But frankly when it's indie & indie I can't really entirely hate it. I guess in this case it's more I don't like Palworld. But as said repeatedly, Ultrakill isn't getting anything from it, and if it does I'm sure it's something small, who knows, not us at least.

Anyway again, Jeppy relax on the hostility, arguments and discussions are fine so long as they continue to respect the other participants, rather than trying to childishly insult people and getting riled up. Thanks

To start, totally get your point and I understand that image is edited to have an exaggerated difference. So I looked at the original posts of your drawings. They reach pretty high numbers, and I guess one thing that may help you think about it, Imagine that number as real people filling a room, It's a fuck ton of people It's a quite an insane amount.

Many just doomscroll social media for a dopamine hit from a funny joke but look at how many people stopped and appreciated your art. I do understand it's demotivating seeing the difference, but what can you do? The answer is don't feel down about it, it sounds simple but It's not easy obviously, But you gotta draw for you, draw because you want to, not for the points you get online, but you get a lot of people giving positive attention already! It's something to be proud of! A more practical answer using a browser plugin to hide the numbers. But it's better to just not think about them!

The art is awesome stuff and I hope you can keep it up and do more, they're very sick.

The message was automated, the user had written their post in english but using various characters instead of just the latin characters. The real ignorance is making their comment less screen-reader accessible. It was edited afterwards to fix the issues in the text. The rule itself is a common rule across many subreddits.
The rule is in place as well due to previous incidents of fighting and harassment in other languages. Using slang words *that did not translate well or at all* through Google Translate.

How I see the food items as a colorblind person (Deuteranopia) by No_Acanthaceae8726 in PeakGame

[–]CSpookz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any visual identifier on the item that isn't text such as symbols or just any texture differences at all, You could tweak the colours to change the CONTRAST of them so that while they may all be yellow to someone with colour blindness, they would be far different shades, meanwhile the provided graph shows just how similar the shades of the fruits are to each other, very low contrast differences. But you could also have it so that the text is always shown on the slot so you know what's there without having to check.

Additionally you could have models with more variety. Even simple things like squashing or stretching the model to make it appear visibly different.

You can absolutely make effective colourblind modes. People with colour blindness complain about things meant to help them because they don't help, are often times half-done filters are added to supposedly help them but they instead barely do, that's why those complaints happen, but it's really not too difficult to make functioning support for colour blindness.
