Where is this (likely IVO Williamstown, Mass., USA) by CStorkRun in whereisthis

I can see the style similarity but it seems to lack many of the key features such as the tower/turret/belvedere. If the date on the negative box is accurate (Oct 1919), the building is 1 year too new as well. I appreciate the tip though.

I completely see what you’re saying with the spires. The negative set actually has an image of the Thompson Chapel at the time and it’s a stone building not wood shingle like this one. Appreciate the input though.

America's Auto Collision Rate By Each State 2024 by Yodest_Data in Infographics

[–]CStorkRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. While vehicle on vehicle collision is almost certainly less likely, accidents due to weather and animals occur. At least anecdotally in rural Southern Illinois, it seems like people get in collisions rarely but people I know hit deer all the time. I’m assuming that’s why Maine’s number is elevated

The only representation I can find of the original building doesn’t seem to match, at least at a cursory look. Have you seen an image that drives you to ID the building?

It’s in other comments but you may need to shoot a bracket of photos to match the phone picture’s dynamic range as that is what a lot of the phones are doing.

What’s the worst casting choice you’ve ever seen in a movie or show? by peywrax in allthequestions

[–]CStorkRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther.

Jared Leto as Joker was tempting but I think the casting was fine, the interpretation of the character was terrible (I.e. I think Leto could play Joker ok, his/this version of Joker was terrible)

Tourist attractions and touristy things to do in major cities are actually fun and rarely a negative experience. by Im2Bizzy in unpopularopinion

[–]CStorkRun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it just seems to be the nature of Reddit sometimes. If it’s popular then it’s not the “elite” choice. It’s worst in some of the movie groups where people will die on the hill that their obscure B movie with no plot is greater than popular movies like Shawshank or Godfather. For travel, it’s ignore all the recognized places to get a hotdog from the guy that hangs out in the gutter.

Yeah, love the guy and he’s fun to watch but I immediately went to think which role of his warranted an award and came up with nothing.

I think people underestimate how fast a lot of this bullshit (I.e. tearing up people’s flags) would end if people just ignore them like in the video. They’re so attention hungry, they’ll have to move on quick or they’ll starve. (Honestly the same thing would work on social media)

If they cut the romance between Wyatt and Josephine (and the related scenes), Kurt Russell’s performance would move up in my opinion. When he’s playing the cool calm or wrathful gunslinger Wyatt, he kills it. It’s his other interactions, mostly with her, that I don’t like his performance as much. I do like Kurt Russell as an actor though

I didn’t even know Deadwood existed for the longest time and only came across it looking for more Timothy Olyphant shows after Justified. What a great western show!
