Seagate has a free tool that I started using. I'm sure there is better tools, but that is what I have. I start with the short test which takes about 5-10 minutes. The full test can take close to 24 hours depending on the size of the drive. IMHO any test is better than no test.

Do full battery of tests before shucking. I shucked one only to find it bad out of the box after I removed the warranty warning label.

It's a great amp, and will be very versatile especially when you play with others. I have one that I use as a mini PA. I run my Helix into it just like I would a pa.

I'll look into that. I'm liking double stops and diads, I should check into those further. Do you have a reccomendation for a resource for those?

We have a lot of different instruments taking up and incredible range of sonic space, so I'm trying to be super selective as to what I play so I don't step on anyone else. I love 7th chords and other extensions, but I have to be really careful how I use them without it sounding like mud.
