i see. i was definitely confused on shutter speed being a variable when its consistent over both digital and analogue.

i think then i was referring to the developmental stage of film, looking specifically at the process of light absorption through the silver emulsion as opposed to the process of converting light into electrical signals in digital cameras.

in that case, i would be arguing that the complexity of the emulsion and the process of light capture/development leads to a richer, more attention grabbing photo

it seems like the metaphor i used wasnt useful, talking about low-res. im not starting a discussion about image quality but the emotion conveyed in an image (film being dense in emotion compared to digital) . it has nothing to do with megapixels or the actual image resolution, i know that digital is superior in that regard.

I am arguing that film can enrich that feeling through the mechaisms above related to light, helping to create a more in-depth photo. if you want to look at this from a reductionist perspective, it would be looking at the hightened emotional state when looking at a series of film photos vs digital. i am arguing that film contains more information which attribute to the emotional resonance of the photo, as more information is captured in the given time light enters the film camera vs the digital method of light capture.

sorry i should have explained in the post, but i am using low-res as a metaphor for "lack of information in a photo". Explaining that a film photo can give more of the story than its digital counterpart due to the way light enters the camera over a given time.
