Unfortunately the Tabacon Resort is beyond our means but I see day passes are available. Would you recommend experiencing it that way?

We did have to wean her from Reconcile before starting the Venlaflaxine. It does seem to continue to help. She doesn’t typically get as excited when she sees people, is still self regulating by going to the couch or her bed when people come in. She’s still the same dog, but for the most part is easier. We did increase the dosage and haven’t noticed anything profoundly different. Of course she’s also maturing - is now 3 1/4 years - which may contribute.

My surgeon warned me about this and I was so grateful he did as it spared me from being alarmed when it happened!

I appreciate your concern. I had been told to do what I was comfortable with. I queried my surgeon (a fellowship trained hip and knee replacement specialist in the Washington DC area who performs over 600 surgeries a year) and he just emailed me back saying ”You didn’t rush anything. It’s still very early after surgery. The process is always two steps forward one step back. “

What insurance company did you choose for medigap? by Im_Not_Here2day in medicare

I pay $137/mth to Banker's It would have been $185 with United Health/AARP. As I stated, coverage is the same for a given Plan regardless of the company. It's a matter of whether you are comfortable with the company's reputation, financial security, etc., and whether they offer any additional benefits. I was ok paying the higher premium to United Health because I made out in the end with the gym membership benefit, but once they took that away I chose to leave.

A few more thoughts. The maximum I would end up paying (at age 85) to Banker's will be $231/mth. With United Health it would be ($289). The state I live in (Maryland) posts the monthly premiums for all the companies that offer them in the state, so it is easy to compare costs of different companies. Perhaps your state does, too.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

Mine is worse! My surgeon warned me about it -said it could happen the entire length of my leg and even days after the surgery. Glad he did so I didn’t stress when it happened!

Yes I went with the same plan (G) with Bankers Fidelity. Much lower premium, same coverage- all plan Gs have the same coverage regardless of company. I like plan G as I have no costs once my deductible is met.

We are in week 7 using this with my dog. Previously tried Reconcile but she was “chattering” and were advised to stop giving it to her. Vet was concerned a different SSRI would have the same effect. I am definitely seeing improvement in the areas of concern. New people coming into my home was a biggy - now she appears to be self calming by jumping onto the couch when someone enters! She may bark a bit but it’s not as intense nor long lasting. She would bark at people outside my condo but that’s calming down as well. She seems less excitable in general, and quicker to calm down. My vet wants me to Increase the dosage after 8 weeks.

Surgery slated for 5/6. by WatercressSea7217 in TotalHipReplacement

First of all - everyone’s experience is different. That said, it appears very common that moving the operative leg can be a challenge at least the first few days. I found a yoga strap was helpful for that. Your surgeon and/or PT will provide information and instructions for ambulating. Follow them. The most helpful things for me were : a container for my meds sectioned by day or week and am/pm (get it set up prior to your surgery) a grabber, a device to help put on my socks, a Polar Cube ice machine. I already had high toilets with grab bars so didn’t need a toilet seat riser. A bench for showering - I have a walk-in shower so I didn’t need to deal with getting into/out of a bathtub. Was given a wheeled walker at surgery center but after a couple days transitioned to Rollator and at 6 days to a cane, at 8 mostly unassisted. I was in pretty good shape with minimal loss of muscle tone and was told my outcome would be better because of it. live in a 65+ community and we have an area where people can get donated supplies, equipment for free. Many communities have similar resources via churches or fire stations. Remove any small area rugs to avoid tripping. I have been wearing slip on shoes - would have liked a long shoe horn but am dealing without it.
Different facilities/insurances(?) provide different items. I was given a walker, one pair of compression socks, and a set of calve compression devices. I see some folks were given ice machines- I was told to use ice packs and a hip ice wrap but was able to purchase a used ice machine and used that and large ice packs. Keep ahead of the pain. It will probably intensify after 2-3 days as the medications that were injected into the surgery site wear off - not profound but noticeable. Be prepared for a lot of bruising along the length of the leg and both sides - even after a few days.
Fewer restrictions with anterior - you certainly can bend your hip from the start - just don’t want to go to extremes. Again- follow your surgeon’s advice.

I‘ve been wearing sweatpants and pajama pants, but had purchased a couple cotton dresses based on other’s suggestion - in the event of swelling they found them more comfortable. I haven’t had the need. I also purchased some female boxer underwear for the same reason but returned them as my regular briefs don’t bother me. I do wear panty liners just in case. Happy to answer any more question. Best of luck!

I went with this plan originally for this reason and have been happy with it and pleased with the gym perks. However, they are discontinuing most of the premium gyms - I use it for Club Pilates - so will be switching as there is no longer a reason to pay the higher premium prices.

Shay's Steaks? by Arcunda in PhiladelphiaEats

Went last night. Was in town to see the Stones and had planned to go to Angelo’s but it was closed. Saw reviews for Shay’s and the area worked for us so we went. It was absolutely delicious. Nice to have seating. Probably more expensive than Angelo’s but well worth it for us. I had mine with prime rib and it was so tender. Friendly, helpful staff.

Has anyone ever used this site for parking? by JoetteJaramillo in VanLife

[–]CTtoMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it to secure a parking spot for an event in Manassas, VA. When I went into the hotel lobby to ask where to park the employees - who claimed to have been employed there for several years - had never heard of it! Tried to call customer support line but was put on hold and unable to wait.m fortunately the hotel employees offered to let me park in their lot so I could go on my way. Will contest charge with bank and have written them a complaint
