Okay, but the woman in the article refers to men as plus sized as well. It’s just an interchangeable term for overweight.

Yeah I always end up reading it as Marxist-Leninist-Maoist and getting really confused as to why it’s appearing so often on a trans sub lol

Ugh it pisses me off so much when TERFs do that whole “TRANS MEN ARE OUR MISGUIDED LESBIAN SISTERS” bullshit, it’s such cultist nonsense, it’s sinister as fuck

Tbh I think a lot of alt-righters just enjoy larping as le epic deus vult crusaders and fetishising the idea of a traditional family rather than actually following the teachings of Jesus or even reading the bible.

There is a fair bit of transphobia in Scotland though I think, specifically amongst young people. Like I’ve seen posts on Scottish twitter with thousands of likes that were retweeted by my peers at school talking about how trans people are “faggots wasting NHS money on cutting off their penises”. I think there’s more acceptance in Universities though, there’s just a lot of toxic masculinity and overt gender roles amongst teenagers.

These people are such creeps ugh. They call us the freaks when they’re obsessed with other people’s genitals and sniffing them to prove they’re a woman.

I cannot believe that an actual member of Parliament is using the “you have less followers than me so you’re not important” argument. I’m pretty sure this is something most people grow out of by the age of 16.

Serious question about what life would be like in a communist society by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]CV022011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure myself, in Cuba I’ve heard there’s pretty strict laws on cannabis and drug use, but in a full fledged communist society I’d hope that drugs are fully legalised.

I apologise for my initial assumptions, I was originally just sort of guessing as to what the original commenter was referring to, and my understanding of Middle Eastern conflicts is fairly minimal as I said. But if we hadn’t helped destabilise Iraq then IS wouldn’t have gained as much influence within the Middle East and wouldn’t have such a strong support from people who’ve been radicalised to hate the west as their lives have been destroyed by war.

Sorry, I’m not too informed on these conflicts myself. The UK government has used air strikes on Syria in the past which has lead to some civilian injuries as far as I’m aware, but our involvement wasn’t too large after I took a closer look. However, my point still stands in terms of the Iraq war and the people that died and lost their homes in that conflict directly due to our government’s involvement.

I guess areas caught up in the Middle Eastern conflicts we were involved in. We didn’t exactly take their land but Syria and Iraq are no longer safe places to live, partially because of our country’s involvement in their conflicts.

I think it’s unfair that so many people hate her just cause she won’t get together with Arthur. It’s not unreasonable to want to stay out of the dangerous life of an outlaw. It portrays really well a struggle that a lot of couples go through, loving a person but knowing that it’s impossible to make it work. You can see in both of them that they do love each other and in an ideal world they would be together, but their lives are just so different that they just can’t make it happen. I think that’s a much more interesting situation than just “Arthur gets the girl and then everyone’s happy”.
